jlangton
This machine has the Sharp UltraSharp LCD,and the Quadro 700GL,and every driver I attempt to install other than the OEM Dell 42.57 driver makes the resolution all screwed up. Pops up with a max resolution of 1400x1050,and a black bar off to the right side of the display, and a section of the desktop overlapped on the bottom.-similar to what I've been reading about with the Samsung LCD's. Guest Guest
http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/index.php?showtopic=6639I guess you need to uncomment (remove ; ) this line in our mobile INF The line that is commented out in the .inf file is only for SXGA+ screens. You need to find the right EDID value for yours. Reinstall the drivers that worked and find the correct EDID value from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\DISPLAY\(your screen type)\(currently active ID code)\Device Parameters in the registry (go to start, run and type regedit. Don't change anything else though). I think the current active ID code is the one at the bottom. To make sure, try to delete every one. The currently active one will be the one that can't be deleted at all (none of them can be deleted completely - but parts of the non-active ones can be). Post the EDID value here and I will tell you what to do with it.

Post the EDID value here and I will tell you what to do with it. Actually, please ignore my post as a guest above. It is possible that your screen is one of the ones that can't be fixed with newer drivers. Otherwise, try adding this line to the .inf (in the same place as the existing commented line) HKR,, OverrideEdidFlags0, %REG_BINARY%, 01,01,01,01,01,01,01 01,01,01,01,01,01,01,80,3e,40,00,62,b0,32,40,40,c0,13,00,30,e4,10,00,00,18 That is just a guess based on the edid in your report. I no longer have an Inspiron 8200 to refer to see how this corresponds to my original posting of the EDID value - so I may have used the wrong numbers in some places (although I am confident that the last few are correct, I am not sure if I started in the right place). Maybe someone else has more knowledge/experience of EDIDs and can verify whether this is the correct number or not.
