I downloaded these drivers yesterday and the first thing I noticed was that the file size was a lot smaller than the 97.54 version (around 10MB smaller). After I extracted the files I overwrote the .inf with the modded .inf and ran setup. The install ran smoothly and when it completed I rebooted. When Vista came back up, I checked the version of the Nvidia driver to confirm that the driver was the correct version. What I found was that the version was still 97.54 rather than 97.59. :unbelievable:

Has anybody successfully installed this new driver and verified that Vista is now running the 97.59 version?

I downloaded these drivers some time ago from Station Drivers, Aero runs pretty well with these drivers on a Dell Latitude D820 with a NVidia Quadro NVS 120M (aka Geforce Go 7400). Modded the .inf-file myself.

Did you check the driver version in Vista after you installed them to verify that you were indeed running 97.59?

Yup, you sure are. I wonder why mine doesn't reflect the new driver. I'm thinking about uninstalling the .54 driver, rebooting, and then installing the .59 driver. The only other thing that I can think of is that my 7400 is installed in an HP rather than a Toshiba, but that hasn't mattered in the past...

Try to mod the inf-file yourself, that worked for me...

I've finally got round to trying these drivers and had the same problem as you. The other thing I noticed is that the Go7600 card that my Tosh laptop has is supposedly supported by the original INF, but the install wizard told me it wasn't and I had to use the modded INF to get it to install.

Derek,
Glad to see that somebody has the same problem as me - I'm not loosing my mind after all! :w00t:

I also pulled down the version that was on the station drivers website, used the modded inf from here and installed the drivers, but Vista still shows them as 97.54. Of course I rebooted the PC after install, but it's still showing as 97.54. I guess I'll just live with it until a new version gets posted since it seems to be working fine.

To explain this confusion:

All drivers you'll find on other sites are (and will be) after the extraction binary compared exactly the same as ours. The size difference -you will notice regardless which driver versin- is due to our packing method... optimized for NVIDIA drivers... and therefore always smaller ;)

No files are missing... Far from it ;)
Since the very beginning we invest a lot of time in the background analyzing new releases from different kind of OEMs/ODMs and updating our driver packages constantly with new (mostly notebook manufacturer) INFs, MultiLanguage files etc. .. which results in the most complete and compatible drivers that only we host - even compared to NVIDIA's original releases.
Have a look into the NFO files: at the top you'll see the date of the last processing of this driver package... done with our processing tool NVAIO which analyzes, 7ZIP and uploads all of our drivers. Automatically. This is why only in our releases you find working NVIDIA game profiles... other sites -and even NVIDIA- not only recently had problems properly packing this file ;)

I hope this explains everything in detail for you guys.
Friday night, time for a

What's different between these and the 97.54 drivers? Does the control panel's global AA settings work?

Thanks for the insight - much appreciated. I'm still confused, however, as to why the driver version is showing up in Vista as 97.54 instead of 97.59. Any ideas?

I also got a "file not found" using the "Have Disk" driver installation method.
Closer examination shows that the modded inf has references to the file nvwgf2um.dll, and the file is missing in the driver download.

I removed all the references to that dll in the .inf file and the install worked, bit of a risk but I could always rollback.

No idea what that file is supposed to do but for the first time I've managed to get Aero Glass, Rotation, and Suspend mode all working perfectly on my Toshiba M200 tablet, so I'm not complaining! Your mileage may vary.

Following these instructions, I got pretty excited about the prospect of everything working properly on my M200.

Sadly, it does not. Aero still drops back to Basic as soon as I start opening programs.

I agree there's some instability but I manage to stay in Glass mode most of the time. Opening Outlook 2007 sometimes has it drop glass, probably due to the complexity of the UI. Then again, I have the minimise/maximise animations turned off and I imagine that may help. I also have the desktop scaled to 115DPI (to help my poor aging eyes!).

So I find it's in Glass most of the time and if it does drop I have a shortcut that restarts the uxsms service. I've since moved to the 98.02 drivers and managed to keep the M200 feaures as well as glass. Definitely not a rock-solid driver but for my M200 the best so far.

I have these drivers out of the box on my Go 7300 equipped satellite A200. The first thing I noticed is that settings in nvidia control panel do not save.
ie brightness, vibrance, gamma, contrast etc always default on reboot or when exiting a game. This applies to external monitor settings also. Due to this problem, using an external monitor is pointless. Default settings are blindingly bright and ugly!

Even though I wasnt expecting much, 3D game performance seems dire. Oblivion with all settings set to low in 640*480 resolution is unplayable. :interesting:

Can someone please recommend drivers that do not have the save issue with display settings? I want to use this machine for graphics work but it's pointless if I
have to change display settings every time I boot.

The Ghost of Drivers Past strikes again! This driver works under Windows 7 on the "nVidia Quadro FX GO 700" chip as found on the Dell Precision M60. The LV2G driver and patch installed without issue. Thanks again!

Aero seem seems to be working fine, although when running nVidia demos, the screen blanks briefly every time I click the mouse. No games have been tested; the chip is too slow for those.

For those of you playing along at home:
96.85 works fine
97.59 (this version) works fine
179.85 yields "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems"
186.18 yields no errors, but fails to install anything.
