My Geforce4 420 go ( Iknow..some old bulls***...) doesnt support windows vista... Ive installed 72.30 orign by Toshiba... In XP it supports DX9 but in Vista it shows DX 8.1 Longhorn... If I install any new driver with modded inf for vista x86 theres an error telling me code nr 43....driver stopped... Ive tried every new chance with every new driver from here(w modded inf). but always get the same fu***** code.. 43 in german it means thexy tell: "Dieses Gerät wurde angehalten, weil es Fehler gemeldet hat. (Code 43)" nearest translation.. thing stopped because of error 43!!! I cant use media center and anything using the hardware accleration... I know..only 32 mb ram...but i dont wanne fly away with it.. wanne only have compatiblity... So guys..If you can help me im very lucky... F*** my english but i hope you know and understand my problen and can help me out... Thanks before... PPLLLEEEAAASSSEEE... Since 2002 this forum is my happy place... Vista requires for even minimal usage the following: 64mb of VRAM DirectX 9 compliant video card Your GeForce Go 420 is a DirectX 8.1 compliant video chip and since it has only 32mb of VRAM it will not support anything hardware wise for Vista. My advice is to remain with XP until you can upgrade to a newer laptop or swap out the video card (if your laptop supports it) for a GeForce 5200 or higher.
