I foresee this as an ongoing thread for any situation on the site instead of posting separate topics on the matter. Therefore here is the, off the top of my head, current list of things to do since the demise of the hard drive list: To Do ------- + Upload missing drivers + Upload missing INFs + Fix modified INF link paths in rest of driver threads -- some are already modified. + Recover lost driver posts Fixed ------ + Attachments have been retrieved and should now work. + <!> Error: Missing file enhancer_performance.txt. Please report this issue. At the moment there is no 158.43. Pieter has been away for many weeks and will have many INFs to create. It fails with a database error every time - except when it tells me info needs to be filled out that is already populated. You ask for way too much info just to register. I assumed that it was because I wasn't registered that I was getting 404's. Now I see that dead links are a way of life for this site. Oh well.... I agree all the non-standard forum registration info should be optional, although I don't think it makes you enter stuff like the BIOS version and whatnot, but I still can't register. I'm pretty sure I used to have an account here but I can't log in with it, recover it, or recreate it (says e-mail address is in use when registering, but non-existent when recovering, go figure). When I try to register with an e-mail I haven't used here before and it looks like everything should be valid, I get a rather vague database error: IPS Driver Error There appears to be an error with the database. Please go back and check the data you entered." Except, all the required forms ARE filled. And also, how about an option for an actual N/A, seeing that I don't have a laptop, and also an option for "Other" and has a blank so we can fill it in ourself? Seeing that my GPU is an ATI... >_>; *runs* EDIT: oh, and this is kinda lame, my name only has a "64" that's not being displayed, and that's just as long as the "..." What's up with that? I'm trying to download a new driver for my geforce go 7400, but every time i try, download accelerator and/or firefox downloads a 17kb .exe file, which generates the following error when I run it: How do I download the full driver? ®®® Posted August 25, 2007 Report Share Posted August 25, 2007 We using redirects for the driver files, so you need to disable either DAP or set it up correctly. Same with Firefox. Another possibility is that the driver (which you have tried to download) is not uploaded correctly, but then a mere download process doesn't give out the above posted error message :) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Soulus101 Posted August 25, 2007 Report Share Posted August 25, 2007 :) Okay, the redirect thing would explain it. The error message is what i get from running the .exe file that dap downloads. I tried a workaround, and downloaded the 163.44b driver from the Nvidia site, and just used the modded inf from here on that. It seems to be working, but is that ideal? I don't really know what I'm messing with here :) I also realise this is the wrong place for this discussion now, so could you send it in a pm?
