Guest Mattis
Hello, I have been trying to get my DLink DWA-547 HW: A3 FW: 1.70 with a PCI identifier of VEN_168C&DEV_0029&SUBSYS_3A7C1186 to work for four hours to no avail. The problem is that it will only connect to 802.11g networks, while my 802.11n network remains undetected by the NIC. I know that the 802.11n network is working, because I have another computer connected to it. I have tried these versions of the Atheros drivers: 7.3.1.109 from this thread 7.6.0.172 from this thread 7.6.1.237 from this thread 8.0.0.332 (This is the latest from Dlink) 8.0.0.351 from this thread 9.0.0.208 from this thread 9.2.0.105 from this thread 9.2.0.113 from atheros.cz 9.2.1.470 from Atheros, found with google. You might notice that the PCI identifier for my card is not present in any of the drivers, except the one from Dlink. I have had to manually add it to each driver I wanted to test so the driver would install. To unpack the 9.2.1.470 I had to: Download latest version from Atheros. Open data1.cab file with InstallShield CAB file Viewer. Extract relevant files. Add %ATHR.DeviceDesc.DWA547% = ATHR_DEV_OS61_3A7A1186.ndi, PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0029&SUBSYS_3A7C1186 in relevant section so that my card is recognized. But no matter what I do, my NIC does not detect any 802.11n networks. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading!
bugmenot
Try the modded drivers, in my experience they are more stable than the oem ones. http://voidseesaw.com/atheros_v9.2.1.470.zip Download those and once again manually add the VEN & DEV ID. Then once it is installed right click dlink adapter in device manager, properties>advanced, and under wireless mode at the bottom try selecting a setting with "n" in it, 11agn (40mHz) being the best as this allows you to connect to pretty much everything

gahbmwm5
10.0.0.260Hi All, Having Win 8 Pro w/Media Center, my Qualcomm Atheros 9485 chipset. Driver Ver: 10.0.0.77 Driver Date: 12/12/2012 It was working fine, however when I went to www.atheros.com/cz I noticed that thet had a newer driver for the 9485 chipset...then I copied and pasted ver: 10.0.0.256------>the site shows 10.0.0.251 for the AR9485 chipset into notepad and the file is: athw8x.inf I did not mod this at all, but opened up the ver:10.0.0.260 folder----->ForInSetup folder copied and pasted the athw8x.inf, and deleted the other 'two' .inf (setup) files within this folder. Now I have: Qualcomm Atheros Driver Ver: 10.0.0.256 Driver Date: 7/4/2013 Going into Device Manager---->Qualcomm Atheros Network Adapter---->Advanced Receive Buffers : 512 (the older driver mentioned above could only get 256) Transmit Buffers: 512 Running very stable...thus far no need to reset network adapter... :) For any of our collective membership that has Win 8 and a AR9485 chip, I have uploaded the athw8x.inf. athw8x.inf mobilevidia post (thanks m8)... mlauzon
I bought a used ASUS ROG G75VW-TS71 2 years ago...someone had stupidly put Win8 on it before I bought it, so I reinstalled Windows 7 -- I own Ultimate -- x64 to it. All drivers are up to date as of this posting. However, I only seem to be able to connect to Wifi at 72.2Mbps. Is there anyway to fix this so that I can connect at a faster speed, or am I stuck to the aforementioned speed?
