Does anyone else have problems with the card locking up the entire system after a few minutes of being connected?

I downloaded the latest driver 8.0.0.279 from the sparklan website for Win7. It came in a package with the Atheros Client Utility (ACU). The driver installed fine, but the ACU did not install at all. However, the ACU will run from the download directory. Does anyone know where to get an ACU package that will install in Win7??

Thanks in advance.

Hello
Could anybody explain, why
v8.0.0.239 was 2.2mb
v8.0.0.259 became 20.6mb, and the latest
v8.0.0.279 is 30.7mb?

What is bundled in there besides the 2mbs for the driver itself?
Thanks.

Plz check v8.0.0.279 client utility. While installing, it gives an error
cannot copy devcon.exe and quits the installation in win 7 32

And does ACU work in windows 7?

I upload the files as I find them (with a little better compression)
No files are removed or added, so if there is an error it would have come from the OEM.

I'll have a look at what I can do, will need to plug back in my Atheros WLAN card, been Broadcom-ing these last few weeks :)

It's an all inclusive driver that has the 3 different OS version inside it.

I have an Atheros AR928x card, and I am running 7.6.1.162 drivers, but I wanted to upgrade it to the newest 7.6.1.237 or whatever they were... But my laptop determines that it has the latest drivers with the 7.6.1.162. o-O What do I do?

Actually, it does it even for the newest drivers. It'll say I have the latest drivers from the update drivers in the device manager.

So what do I do?

Also, I'm running Vista SP1 x86.

And sorry for the double post.

And does ACU work in windows 7?

ACU from the v8.0.0.279 package does seem to work quite well with Windows 7. I've tested on W7, 32bit, running a ar56000x type card. This card is dual/band A/G, but it is max 54mpbs, so I don't know if the ACU will work over 54mbps on Windows 7.

To install the v8.0.0.279 with ACU on Windows 7 (32 bit):

In Install_CD folder, right-click on setup.exe and choose "Troubleshoot compatibility".
Next, choose second option "Troubleshoot program".
Next, check box of first option.
Next, choose Windows XP SP2
Next, click on "start the program"

After installation is complete, don't reboot (choose to reboot later). Go to control panel/administrative tools/services. Near the bottom is WLAN AutoConfig. Double click, stop the service, then disable the service, then click apply.

Reboot and configure ACU as usual.
