Guest Vaga
Does the modded driver only works on the Acer 5920G or can it be use also for the 7720G? :)
®®®
This is the wrong thread for the ACER modded driver :)
Discrucio Anima
Actually it's more for Gemstones that have the media control bar (so far I've seen 4920G, 5920G using it). You could install it in the 7720G and make use of the gesture support as well.

gonwk
v11.2.4.0 Vista x86/64 and WinXP x86 DriverVer=08/14/2008, 11.2.4.0 .... THANKS for the latest Synaptic Drivers ... Would it be too much trouble to put the Driver Version Number and for OS Ver (example XP 32-bit, ... etc) ... on the downloadable .exe files. So they can be differentiated. Thanks, G! :) Edited September 27, 2008 by gonwk
Michael Marley
Usually the drivers will work with all OSes. It appears to be the install method which is different between Vista and XP. I am running 64-bit Vista drivers on my 64-bit XP laptop right now. The .EXEs already have the driver version on them... Guest Abnormal
I have serious problem, maybe someone had that issue too. My touchpad is soo sensitive, so i have installed synaptics driver just to be able to ajust it. I know there are no drivers intended for Windows7, but those dedicated for Vista works perfect. With a little side effect - keyboard STOPS to work. Uninstalling drivers - keys are fine again. Any clues?
Ali Bas
Synaptics v12.2.3.0 driver has some particularly useful features. For more info on what I'm talking about, go to the driver's installation directory TouchPad_XP_090318\WinWDF\x86 and view these features in action: Chiral Rotate = SynChiralRotate.mpg Chiral Vertical/Horizontal Scrolling = SynChiralVHScroll.mpg Flick = SynFlick.mpg Linear Vertical/Horizontal Scrolling = SynLinearVHScroll.mpg Momentum = SynMomentum.mpg Pinch = SynPinch.mpg Even SynCntxt.rtf includes some info regarding Two-Finger Gestures and Three-Finger Gestures (which I believe could be used to have a Two-Finger Scrolling feature found in Mac laptops) The problem is that these features will only work if you have an Asus hardware. Otherwise, the driver will recognize yours as OEM hardware removing the above mentioned features. When I tried installing this Synaptics v12.2.3.0 driver in my Compaq Presario F756NR laptop with Windows XP SP3, Device Manager lists my touchpad as Synaptics PS/2 Port Compatible TouchPad and has a Device Instance Id = ACPI\SYN0140\3&2411E6FE&0 and a Hardware Id = ACPI\SYN0140 When I installed this to my laptop, according to Synaptics' Device Settings, my touchpad has a Name = Synaptics TouchPad V6.3. Also, the above features are non-existent in the Settings. The driver works (for me) at a basic level. Is there any way that this driver be modified to have a modded inf so that the features mentioned above would also work on non-Asus hardware? I'm sure that my touchpad is capable of these features because I have a working Two-Finger Scrolling enabled in Ubuntu Linux.
UchihaZero
For those of you who want the "Disable internal pointing device when external USB pointing device is attached" option in the synaptics control panel, open regedit and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTPEnh, right click and select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value and name it "DisableIntPDFeature". Modify it's value to 33 in hexadecimal, or 51 in decimal to enable it to be default on. Auto_disable_touchpad.reg
LSudlow
Thanks, UchihaZero! You're our hero for the day! :) EDIT: HKLM didn't work for me, but HKCU did. Here's my version in case anyone needs it: Auto_disable_touchpad.reg
HunterZ0
Yeah these drivers definitely seem ripe for hacking into a super version that has all features enabled.
