Loaded 163.75 Vista Drivers and Pieter's INF version 3.232 (thanks) onto Gericom Hollywood SLI (2x 7800), no indication of SLi, until I started up NHancer, it opened up with the green SLI icon with SLI detected & enabled, giving me all the sli/sli mode/slidx10 settings, after days of loading drivers have I finally cracked it, all I need to do now is work out how to use NHancer

Ran Halflife 2 @ 1920x1200 with all setting on max for 3hrs no issues what so ever

Great site, keep it going, perhaps the Alienware boys can try this driver, after all the Gericom is a Arima, and therefore a poor cousin to the Alienware.. .I bought mine for £700.00 on a one day special from Scan computers UK

cheers jrp

Hi all,
I'm trying to install this driver on my VAIO Notebook with no success.
Does somebody know if there are any further update needed on modded inf to make this driver work with VAIO notebooks??
My notebook is VAIO SZ430N/B running windows xp sp2.
The issue is that when the driver installation finish, then the display's  brightness is settle to minimum (So I can't see almost anything). However,  raising  display's  brightness makes no effects after the driver installation.
Is someone experiencing this same issue??Does someone know how to fix it??

thanks in advance,
Roger

Do you have your vid card flashed to an unlocked bios?
If not, then you will not be able to OC.

If so, then reinstall ATI tool etc to see if that helps (oh, and be sure to use 0.27b2 or newer of ATI tool)

thanks for the response.
i can oc with the 163.71 driver as well as with the older ones,
and yes, i have an unlocked bios, oc usually is no problem.
i use atitool 0.26, as the beta doesn't work on my system.

Just delete the following line in the modded INF and reinstall the driver :
HKR,, EnableBrightnessControl, %REG_DWORD%,	1

Works ok with my 8600m GT but my secondary monitor comes through in B&W :)  so I'll have to settle for 163.69.

Is this for overclocking? If so, me too with my 7300 Go.
I am noticing overall better performance with my games on stock settings though. But any Idea how I can overclock once more?

No, not that I am aware of. I simply go to my Control Panel, double click the NVIDIA Control Panel button, and I get a "program encountered an unexpected error and must be shut down" message.

Posted Image

It doesn't matter which button I hit, but I get the following error message.

I haven't tried running any games yet.

Hi there,
thanks a lot for the tip.
I've done three more attempts with your suggestions:

One install with this code:
HKR,, EnableBrightnessControl, %REG_DWORD%, 0

Other with this one:
HKR,, EnableBrightnessControl, %REG_DWORD%, 1

And the last one with this code:
HKR,, EnableBrightnessControl, %REG_DWORD%, 2

All of my attempts failed (I mean that I still experiencing issues with brightness control).
Besides, I also tried to uninstall the drivers using Guru3D - Driver Sweeper.

Please, May someone help me with this issue?
Thanks in advance,
Roger
