You just need to use your package manager to get them (I think its Synaptic under ubuntu). If you prefer the terminal (you should :) ) you could open a terminal and use apt-get. Ex. sudo apt-get install nvidia-glx . Then Ctrl + Alt + Backspace to restart X. Personally, my preference is to find the Linux drivers at www.nvidia.com and then install them in a non-X environment.
