Important Notes
  • INF is for Clevo Laptops only installing it on other systems may cause problems. Clevo laptops are usually rebranded and re-sold under a new name from re sellers such as ROCK, SAGER, EUROCOM, NOVATECH etc
To check to see if your laptop is Clevo made go here, also check out Clevo's Site.
  • The dowload links provided are for the INF only, you still need to download the driver from the main server, If downloading from nvidia's site make sure you download the international version
  • Installation notes:
  • Download the relevant driver and INF from below
  • Extract the driver using 7zip, and put the inf file into the folder
  • Uninstall your current driver and reboot
  • Vista x64 users follow this
  • Follow the Have Disk Method XP | Have Disk Method Vista to install or click setup.exe in the driver folder. I recommend the 'Have Disk Method' to install because if there are any errors it will pop up and it will be easier to diagnose problems.
Reporting Problems
When reporting problems:
  • State graphics card
  • Driver version used
  • Check to see if pieter INF works first
  • Be precise with the error.

Wow, thx. This is really nice. Can you update to the newest driver from Clevo (175.97), too? This would be great.

I made 10 minutes ago a nLite CD with an other *.inf, arggghh :) Will test yours on weekend, so thanks for this.

you welcome :)
please note these drivers arent for 3d mark 2006 to get the highest scores, they are mainly for real world games to get Higher image quality (for some cards) and to improve performance (for some cards).

I tried to get a nice balance between IQ and Perf based on the cards.
A higher end card has more agressive IQ tweaks (I dont not notice a drop in FPS) and mid range and lower end cards are tweaked for better perf with IQ enhancements as well.

as for 175.97 its vista driver only??? My inf is only for XP at present :)

i wont be releasing enhanced drivers just for mobile drivers.
I would expect the next release to be for WHQL drivers from nvidia.

I wont blindly release an inf to support a driver without first testing them and only for what i feel are worthy drivers.

Performance is not the only thing for me, the main focus for me is the image quality, so this is really helpfull.

On Sagernotebooks.com you can find a newer driver, also for XP. Look in NP9262 (SKU D900C2) Section. This 175.97 is also WHQL certificated.

you welcome :)
quadro support will definitely make into the next release.
as far as 177.xx driver is concerned there were bugs in them that did not warrant a release.
but who knows.

I also have a Clevo laptop from Sager. It's the 5720 model with a "GO 7800 GTX" video card. I had to add this card in on my own to your inf file as it wasn't listed, but it works fine after doing so. Here is the card information if you'd like to add it in for everyone else:

DEV_ID: 0099
SUBSYS_ID: 05701558

hey thanks for the feedback.
but just for verification did the driver install without adding the card to the inf?
Just adding the card line to the inf doesnt mean it will install because i named the way it installs differently to the defaut clevo inf.
i think the line: NVIDIA_G70.DEV_0099.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce Go 7800 GTX"
should cover the cards that arent listed in the inf such as yours, and i think thats how it installed.

also i added a missing 7800GTX card to the inf (thanks to you :) )

%NVIDIA_G70.DEV_0099.2% = nv7x, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0099&SUBSYS_09001558

also i think your card dev and sub id is the missing
%NVIDIA_G70.DEV_0099.4%

for some reason clevo has chosen not to have that card supported :o
I'll add it anyway to the inf for next release :)

regards.

I'm not completely sure, but I'm fairly certain I tried installing the drivers with your inf and it would fail with the usual unsupported video card message. After adding in my card's information it worked great. I also find it strange that Clevo has decided not to support the card in this particular laptop. I thought it was rather popular for its time. Here's the full line I used, I took it from an old sager driver I was using before:

%NVIDIA_G70.DEV_0099.4% = nv7x, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0099&SUBSYS_05701558

Thanks for providing this for us, I've been using my old version 86.14 drivers for so long!

thanks dasfool
i've added that line to the next beta inf already.

Been playing around with some new tweaks and settings,
overall its looking a better inf than the last.

regards.

How, wow my comp just crashed.

I installed your driver, I have a clevo M57RU with a 8700M GT. Once installed, when I opened the properties>settings box, it told me something like "LOL NOT SUPPORTED", telling me that I had a -1 x -1 resolution.

I told my self I should reboot...
Once rebooted, black screen, nothing but windows launched without the VGA.

I rebooted in safe mode and uninstalled them... maybe I should try older drivers.

Cheers,
Nico
