Hello all!! After days and days i finally succeed overclock my Nvidia 9300m G!

I tried many tools but noone worked, the problem was with the driver..

I tried 178.13 178.15 and also 178.24 modded by Dox but everytime i tried overclock my GPU clocks reseted to default.

So i tried install the old version 169.04 and they work really good!! i can also overclock with them!!

My Nvidia 9300m G is the old 8400m GS with support for directx 10 so not a great card for games anyway my default clocks was 400 mhz for core (800mhz shader) and 400 mhz (800 mhz effective) for memory gddr2.

With atitool i used the options find max core/memory and found 620 mhz as max value for core and 490 mhz as max value for memory !!! really nice!! + 220 mhz for core and +90 for memory !!

Anyway for do not have problems i did few benchmark with core at 580 Mhz and memory at 450 Mhz and here the results:

My 3dmark 2005 score went from 3294 point with 178.24 by Dox and default clocks to 4093 with 169.04 and clocks at 580core/450memory (+799)

My 3dMark 2006 score went from 1689 point with 178.24 by Dox and default clocks to 2202 with 169.04 and clocks at 580core/450memory (+513)

Also games look more smooth!!

Soon ill try with better clock :)

edit: forgot to say that my GPU temp never go up 65° :) always 62° - 64° while i play games or do 3dMarks test

I posted this for share my experience and help someone here that still cannot overclock his card :P try driver 169.04 ^^

is way better use 169.04 and overclock your card then use the new 178.24 or 180.42 and with default clocks

sorry for my bad english but im italian ^^

With the 180.43 you can overclock too using ntune. Go to the nvidia website and find ntune. It is really easy to use. My default clock is 580/400 MHZ, I overclock to 750/430 MHZ the temp never exceeds 55C cause i have laptop cooler.

u r probably using a desktop card... i dont think nvidia allows you to install ntune on a laptop GPU.. unless you have some modded exe...

I think both posts are incorrect.

First 180.43 is no better than all the other 170+ drivers which have locked out many systems. and second n-tunes can be installed on anything- it just doesn't do much.

No problem to install, but it can be used merely just to monitor functions.

185.20 is like 169.04 in this respect, overclocking where others fail. Probably not 100%.

Yep, now for locked system there are 3 way for overclock:

1- use 169.04 driver

2- use 185.20 driver

3- edit the GPU bios

Atm i have installed the new Acer driver 179,24 mobile... For me this driver is the best in games about benchmarks it is not..

And i have also edited my gpu bios to 520 core and 440 memory while the default freq. was 400 and 400 ...

I can overclock easy to 590 and 460 but i chose lower freq for dont have problems with any driver or when summer come :)
