but i hear that the best driver are 8.10, are they?

Best for what? For gaming I prefer latest AMD.ATI drivers (9.1 at the moment), cause' they include fixes for newest game titles. As for benchmarking I really don't know. It's not like NVidia where you have tons of different drivers from various sources.

Warhead? The card can run it at 1280.800 with everything in mainstream without any problem.

Crysis Warhead will be playable @medium. Here is my setttings:
  • Resolution: 1280x800
  • DX 9 mode, No Anti-Aliasing, No VSync
  • Texture Quality: Minimum (Mainstream is also possible, but I see no difference)
  • Objects Quality: Mainstream
  • Shadows Quality: Minimum
  • Physics Quality: Gamer
  • Shaders Quality: Gamer
  • Volumetric Effects Quality: Minimum
  • Game Effects Quality: Gamer
  • Post Processing Quality: Gamer
  • Particles Quality: Gamer
  • Water Quality: Gamer
  • Sound Quality: Mainstream
  • Motion Blur: Mainstream
As you can see I've sacrificed texture quality, which is limited due to 256MB of video ram, shadows and clouds (volumetric effects). Why? Because I like HDR, more realistic physics, booms & splashes.

GTA4...sad experience. Playable, but I couldn't find settings that satisfy my eye.

Warhead? The card can run it at 1280.800 with everything in mainstream without any problem.

The card can actually do better in this game. See above.

yes. im pretty sure GTA IV require much high end spec than Crysis WH.

not only that, even the minimum requirement of GTA IV is higher than Crysis WH.
how do i know? i got a cousin with Go 7600 128MB (512TC). he can run crysis at lowest setting for first chapter (ishmael i think).
after that he said the lag is ridiculous.

GTA IV? the go 7600 would not enter it at all due to RESC10 error (although i've set commandline).

the thing is., GTA IV in medium and in Ultra High settings aren't much different (in my laptop)
in Crysis, medium and highest setting are very visible to eye.

@Luminati:

hi, a 3650 (i guess above 8600M GT) can run GTA IV at low-med settings right?
i got a friend with acer 5920g as well, but i havnt asked him about the experience.

Yes it can, but mine ati 3650 has 256 mb of video memory which I guess is just not enough to cache all surrounding objects. Anyway, I didn't try too hard to tune all settings, cause I have this game on PS3.

the last vbios HP_Wistron_Vox_M86M_11.00.27062.rom allows hyper memory, maybe this will help with grater texture level in GTA 4???

hi to all,

have anybody knows that the existance of an ati 3650/3670 512mb GDDR3 , in a slot mxm II ? from ibm , msi , dell...

my friendes have an ati 3670 256mb gddr3 the card is a little slow in performances than an nvidia 9600M gt 512mb gddr3, 5000 pts vs 5700pts in 3d mark 06 in the same notebook at 1280 x800, but i'want an ati 3650/3670 512mb GDDR3 for better texture detail in moder games like gta 4, because the nvidia 9600m gt in system heat 6-7°C more than ati 3670.

thanks
