Amazing that after 13 pages ppl r still asking for help regarding their 96xx cards

when its clear that 185.20 driver inst working for them

On the other hand, 86xx guys in general having gr8 results with the new driver

what i`m trying to say is bottom line

If you have a 96xx card dont use the driver

If you have a 86xx card use it

Which driver do you prefer for 96xx cards to get the best performance for the HL²-engine or newer games like mass-effect? Until now i have tested some drivers (175.97, 176.24, 176.68, 179.28 beta, 179.28, 179.48) and i think the 179.48 is the fastest one of the tested drivers. If there is a more suitable driver please post the version number. :)

If it's unstable then you may have to look for another driver version (try dox 182.05)

I have two issues with theses drivers :

  • I have no longer the control panel link when I right click on my desktop...
  • I do not had the automatic installation of PhysX driver when installing them first time

Any clue ?

You need a WHQL certified driver like 182.06/08.

omg... these would be the best drivers ever BUT! I get this f***ing weird 1px white horizontal line around 50 pixels from the bottom of the screen... ANY SUGGESTIONS?

These drivers are indeed very fast, GTAIV improved by 50%...

Unfortunately they also overheated my card to the point major artifacting appeared, even after closing the game. Had to reboot and rollback, and for a second I thought my graphics card was gone.....

Compal IFL90 with 8600M GT 512MB DDR2

This driver is severely flawed. I can't speak for game performance but after I installed the drivers my laptop's screen wouldn't resume from sleep. The computer would start back up but the screen remained black. Had to roll back.

I'm can't even say for certain that it's the driver but they do correlate so w/e
