-Re did d3d and ogl tweaks - improved performance over original 185.85 in REAL games

Then i won't talk about 3dmarks score i promise ;-) Will try those later !!! Thanx for what you're doing Dox, your installer rocks...hybrid support will help and simplify things for a lot of people i guess ;-)

PS : I remember that i've read a post telling that you weren't planning on tweaking 185.85 ;-)

Dox, thanks buddy, drivers work great, as usual.

About the user who needed reg key to fix PowerMizer, it's here:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video

Then click through all the keys inside of that, and find one that has your stuff in it in "0000" and look for PerfLevelSrc and change it to 3322.

What I do is, once Dox's installation generates the .inf file (after you choose your OS and set up it makes the .inf) I go in there and do CTRL+F and search for PerfLevelSrc and change it to 3322 (Off for Ac, on for Battery)

Also, if your right click for the context menu is slow, do this:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers

and delete the NV one and that's it.  Right clicking on desktop will be instant.

French,

I didnot want to leave things un finished :P
found out there was a conflicting setting in 185.68 which limited its potential,
being me I just couldn't let it stay that way :)

Also had some code that was half finished for the installer which I thought was a waste if i didnt finish it

I say alot of things and then I change my mind, you should know me by now :)

Hey, great drivers.  Sorry I'm on a guest account.  I noticed 3dmarks didn't improve any, but I got a sick 12 fps jump each in two games that I play (as compared to the vanilla version of this same driver)

I feel you made a wise choice to base your next optimization on, this driver had a lot of potential.

I'm curious, as there's a problem I've had with the recent few drivers.  The context menu opens slowly.  (I know I can just delete the key to make it go away but..)

Anybody know a solution that doesn't involve me removing control panel from my right click?  Like.. to make it open quickly again?

Awesome job! The best updated driver since 185.20 that I've been stuck with for months.
Great to see Dox coming back into the scene, it's been a long time!

I will be looking into why the drivers are not working for some Hybrid Graphics users (BenQ S42 & Fujitsu Amilo xi3650).

Perhaps its specific oem settings?
that their drivers has?
Or simply its due to the .dlls not being compatibile in the first place.

W/e I feel drained in looking into.

Thanks again nautis.

Something stupid I overlooked again most likely, I keep taking for granted that when the drivers work on my Hybrid Graphics notebook that they will work for the others.

You have worked extremely hard and deserve a break Dox. This part is on me.

"I will annoy dox with silly questions" LOL

Works great on my beloved lap. Better performances and lower temps than Official 185.85 for me.

I very much appreciate the time and effort, but I am sorry to say it did not work for me: Z690, Vista Ultimate x64.

I read and followed the intructions. Here is what I did:

1. Moved the switch to SPEED so that both cards are visible in the Device Manager
2. Uninstalled nVidia driver with option "delete the driver" checked.
3. Uninstalled Intel driver (at this point the screen res went to 800x600).
4. Shut down. Start again.
5. Installed VistaWin7x64_185.85.exe with options "VISTA x64" & "Hybrid graphics"
6. Restarted.
7. Resolution remained 800x600, both cards are recognized in the device manager, but they have an exclamation point. Right-click reveals: windows cannot load the driver becaue it is corrupt or missing (Code 39).

I had to go back to the original driver from SONY.

Hope this helps in further development. Thanks again.

I just reinstalled with the Win7 version, its working perfectly, minor improvement upon the default drivers that Windows Update had for my GF 8600M GT. RivaTuner still doesn't detect this driver yet for my graphics card.

I have the same setup as vinxz, except I use Win7 x64 instead of x86.  After uninstalling my old drivers and installing this version, I have the same problem as described above--driver isn't recognized.

As told several times RivaTuner needs to be updated to work with 185.85 drivers. A little patience needed.

Guys, on the toshiba x300-156 the driver installs and works perfectly. There's only one thing missing.

HKLM,"System\CurrentControlSet\Services\nvlddmkm",BacklightControlPolicy,%REG_DWORD%,1

so that the backlight fn keys work!

Also, i think that you guys can't do anything to solve this but... If i use only the 9400M, the right-click on the desktop is quick. When i change to the 9800-sli the right click takes too long. Again this only happens when you are trying to get to the nvidia control panel. I've seen this on the very latest 185.xx versions.

thank you for your work
