Guest Nuke33
I´ve done some research, seems like the DDR2 500mhz one is a 4650 for an aspire 6930G and the second one with 900mhz is a 4670 with DDR3 from an aspire 8935G. The 4650 DDR2 for 6930G seems to be the one which was used in 5920G. The question is whether the 4670 is mxm II or III. If it is MXM II i would give it a try. Would be nice if someone who own a 8935G could post a picture of the 4670 inside. No photos for acer cards but a reference-design one for 4650/4670: http://www.computerbase.de/bildstrecke/24018/15/

Guest Guest_Meins321_*
Does 3.0 MXM mean that the connector is different? That would be nuts! just like intel did to get people to upgrade
Guest Nuke33
the 4650 from 6930g works fine on 5920g but gpu does not fit well on cooler, there may be heat issues. @NM1 : have you tested the 4650 in an 5920g ? What is the Problem with the Heatsink? I noticed that the memory-chips are turned by 90 degrees and will probably not fit exactly. Or is it the Gpu that does not ? Btw, my 5920g would be a very good notebook if it was cooler. I idle at 60-63°C and when i play games my gpu reaches 97°C and throttles down. Thats the main reason i´m trying to upgrade, since the 4650 has a lower TDP than my 8600m GT. The Fan Noise is also very annoying ;-)

Mhh yes i read your posts at notebookreview.com. Thats far too high. I dramatically reduced my temps by putting a 0,3mm thick sheet of copper between die and heatsink. My temps in furmark were max 95°C overclocked to 700/600. And furmark gives way higher temps than crysis.
