dragoster: I have taken my computer apart and disconnected/reconnected the antenna wires. I still experience dropped connections. I notice it most when I am doing heavy internet use (Hulu, other video), and when I am on a network with other users. I use this computer both at home and school and experience the same problems. When doing normal internet browsing, I don't notice that it drops signal.

Which card did you choose? I have chosen AR9002WB-1NG #1, AR5008x, AR5008WB-EG#1. The first and third still drop signal, and the second didn't work at all? These are from the 8.0.0.279 driver, netathr.inf file.

Hey mobilenvidia,
I don't know how you got your card to work, but mine still drops all the time. I can't go more than 10 minutes without it dropping. Using AR928X from the netathrx.inf file of 8.0.0.279 driver is more stable so far, but still drops the signal all the freaking time.
Hardware IDs:
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_002A&SUBSYS_0200168C&REV_01
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_002A&SUBSYS_0200168C
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_002A&CC_028000
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_002A&CC_0280
System:
Dell Studio14z
Windows 7 (RC1) 64bit.
Is there a different (maybe intel) card that I can swap into this thing? I hate Atheros with a passion now.
