OpenGL 3.2 Driver Release Notes

You will need one of the following graphics cards to get access to the OpenGL 3.2 and GLSL 1.50 functionality:

Desktop

* Quadro FX 370, 570, 1700, 3700, 4600, 4700x2, 4800, 5600, 5800, Quadro VX200, Quadro CX
* GeForce 8000 series or higher; Geforce G100, GT120, 130, 220, GTS 150, Geforce GTS 250, GeForce GTX 260, 280, 285 and 295, any ION based products.

Notebook

* Quadro FX 360M, 370M, 570M, 770M, 1600M, 1700M, 2700M, 3600M, 3700M
* GeForce 8000 series or higher

This driver supports all of OpenGL 3.2 and GLSL 1.50, except for the following:

* Geometry shaders as part of the core. You can use the ARB_geometry_shader extension instead
* glXCreateContextAttribsARB() does not yet support the GLX_CONTEXT_PROFILE_MASK_ARB attribute value. In order to create a Core profile context, call glXCreateContextAttribsARB(), request OpenGL 3.2 as the version, and leave the GLX_CONTEXT_PROFILE_MASK_ARB attribute out. In order to create an OpenGL 3.2 Compatibility profile context, call the "old" glXCreateContext() entrypoint. Note: wglCreateContextAttribsARB() does support WGL_CONTEXT_PROFILE_MASK_ARB.

This driver exposes the following new extensions:

For OpenGL 2.1 capable hardware:

* ARB_fragment_coord_conventions
* ARB_provoking_vertex
* ARB_vertex_array_bgra
* ARB_depth_clamp

For OpenGL 3 capable hardware:

* WGL_ARB_create_context (updated to create profiles)

I've been meaning to ask: where are you finding these drivers? I've checked nVidia's public site, both the consumer and developer subsections, and have been unable to find this release there (the same goes for 190.40, and many earlier versions reported here).

I tried loading this driver on my Dell Precision M2400 running Windows 7 RC 64-bit and it wouldn't not install, not recognizing my Nvidia Quadro 370M even though the notes mention it as being supported.

Those are desktop model you got to wait for the INF mod.

The documentation is misleading as it mentions OpenGL and mobile cards; the driver itself is a desktop one. (I thought that it would support mu FX 1600M, too...)

It's cos they are developer drivers, to tell them what they can code for using them.

Just got em on Vista 64 SP2 and gained 2 fps in DoW II benchmark over 190.38 which is nice. I haven't done anything else other than poke through the control panel, but the driver seems to be working fine.

Ok, updating my last post (the guest just up there):

RivaTuner seems not to like me as well... I've taken my time into following a specific tutorial made by a friend who has the same graphics card (but not an "Apple-flavored" one) and doesnt matter what I do, RivaTuner just keeps telling me there's no support for the driver installed in my system.

I did uninstall the official driver and installed a modified one (the same used by my friend) before making a run at Riva, and yes I did try to make Riva force the use of the driver, but it still didn't work.

Any thoughts? ;/
Frustrating to have a nice machine that could potentially run pretty much all my games up top (or close) and not be able to get it to run like that because of a driver with a bad case of not-liking humans... ;o
