Ok.

Short version. It's HUGE. The resolution is 1920x1080.

The 64Gb SSD drive for the C is horribly configured. like 46 for the OS, 10 for the recovery DVD's....

First thing I did was make the recovery DVD's. 3 for the OS, 1 Instant repair DVD, and 1 for the Driver DVD.

Then immediately pulled the 320 drive, put in my 500, reformatted all drives and built it with Win 7 Ultimate.

Clean install, no junk apps.

used the Driver DVD to reinstall all drivers and few apps that I wanted.

**Warning, if you do it this way for some reason the camera driver won't install** No loss for me there. I didn't use the camera on the last one.

I haven't run any benchmarking software yet... But I can tell you, I played a game that I've never been able to play on ultra high res mode.

Another comment. The realtek WiFi card is SLOW to associate, has B, G and N (No A, no N on A frequencies, etc) There's a series of touch buttons on the left of the keyboard. They are VERY sensitive and have started to annoy me already. The BD/DVD eject button is also at the very base of the drive which is nearly UNDER the computer and hard to press.

The shiny almost carbon fiber looking case is a fingerprint magnet too. :)

Would I buy it again? Absolutely. Regrets: The wifi card is less than impressive. I have a dual router where N channel can be on the A band and this cheapo card can't do it yet the $39 special at best buy can.

Welcome!

Well if you are feeling adventurous you could always get an Intel Ultimate N Wifi Link 5300 from Ebay under $20 to replace the Realtek card.

Ok, now you've done it.

The notebookreview.com guys want me to do a review too.

I'll do what I can. I'm off work this week anyway. :)

Hope you all don't mind "sharing" with them. ....

My Toshiba Qosmio X505 Q850 arrived today and I was very happy to set it up and could not wait to boot it up. To my dismay, I was totally disappointed in the WI-FI connection. it simply will not work unless I'm sitting right next to the router. In fact its so bad I might be returning this computer. At first I thought it might be my Router, but this is definitely not the case. I have a total of four other laptops in my home, 2 netbooks, a Mac Book Pro,and the Qosmio G25-av513, the Wi-Fi is working great in all of them. Each laptop was used in the same room I'm trying to get the Qosmio X505 to work, this room is not that far from the room with the router. I'm aware this is a desktop replacement
but if I wanted to be a slave next to the router I would have just bought a Desktop computer. Any one else with this problem??? I will contact Toshiba Support on Monday to see if there is any help for this problem.
