well I emailed acer and got no where...they kept asking for my laptops serial number and then telling me it's wrong and now they won't even email back. stupid company.

Of course they won't reply to you, guys! MXM upgrades aren't meant to be done by the end user or general consumer. They won't support the new GPU under warranty either, so keep it on hand if you develop issues with other hardware.

But since I've seen some models of 6920G sold with the Radeon HD 3650 stock, I'd say it's a safe upgrade. Get the 256MB GDDR3 version if you can.
