Hey everyone!

I've been trying to get this Intel 5300 to work on my intel motherboard (DG45ID) with an adapter from hwtools. I've been searching high and low and can't find a workaround or a solution to get this wirless adapter to work on the motherboard. Does anyone here have experience with getting this device to work on non intel hardware, or on laptops that lack compatibility.

I'd appreciate any help!

Thanks

I realized I purchased the wrong wireless adapter. I accidentally purchased the model specific to HP and IBM laptops. Is there a method to reflash firmware on wireless adapters?

Nope the, wireless card shouldn't be locked, the BIOS on the Notebook has a Whitelist of cards it can take/support.
HP is particular bad for having WLAN whitelisted cards.

Your Intel card should work in any machine.
Chances are all Notebooks support Intel WLAN cards as they need to get the "centrino inside" logo
