Guest nobody
WOW, another crappy driver for my 8600mgt (WHQL) unstable and slow, has anyone an idea how to remove the flickering since 179.28?
Guest Guest
it still flickers and then screen goes dead with 8700m gt ? like 186.xx ?
rolloLG
Why the hell can't nVidia code good drivers? There's a new bug introduced in the 195.xx series: now 2D acceleration doesn't work well. To test it just run Windows Photo Gallery in Slideshow mode and you'll see sluggish and jerking transitions between pics... :) Edited December 6, 2009 by rolloLG
Guest Guest
you think the problem is in the drivers? don't use vista, use xp :)

Natslx
+2 FPS On Crysis, 8600M GS, upgraded from 195.55. Startup seems faster, and 2D performance seems faster.
rolloLG
and 2D performance seems faster. Please, can you run "Windows (Live) Photo Gallery" (the default viewer), if you have Vista/Win7, in slideshow mode and see if animation (e.g. zoom+pan) is accelerated? If it's not will be very sluggish and jerky and CPU usage is above 80% during pics transitions. Some programs have problems with 2D and the 195 family... zipper
It's jerky also with 191.00 which I have ATM.

mando
CPU Usage=10% Core 2 Duo 2Ghz Seems smooth, might be just me though. Same here working good, but performance is bad. In old games like cs 1.6 (fps drops from 100 to 70 in action, and on overlay ~40fps ...) and on some new games like mw2 (on dox 185 game is running much better). rolloLG
It's jerky also with 191.00 which I have ATM. Yes... It was not with 186, 187, 179 and previous Forceware! CPU Usage=10% Core 2 Duo 2Ghz Seems smooth, might be just me though. Very strange. Maybe it depends on the gfx board too? I have a 9600M GT. I've 8600m gs acer t5450. driver is as good as dox 185.85. much cooler than ex drivers. This is the best one i use. especially overclocking modes, it's cooler than the others. Guest jcw
+2 FPS On Crysis, 8600M GS, upgraded from 195.55. Startup seems faster, and 2D performance seems faster. The FPS-performance appears to be pretty much the identical to 195.55, BUT my laptop gets about 3°C hotter when gaming. As my gaming temeperatures are somewhat borderline anyway, I have gone back to 195.55 again.
Guest killernik
Why is there never a support in the modded inf for the 8400 M GT graphics card? Im using a sony vaio VGN-FZ21M
Guest sandman6471
I'm running a nvidia geforce 8400gs. When running Windows 7 ultimate 32bit, watching streaming video, or dvd, or yahoo messenger 10 in chat rooms with webcam running. I would get a black screen then a balloon message stating my nvidia driver had stopped responding but had recovered. I was using the latest driver 195.62, I'm currently back running Server 2008 with no problems at all. sandman6471@yahoo.com
Guest Shoku
My videocard "recovers from serious errors" more often but I still find myself stuck at a black screen pretty often. Borderlands just won't run well on this card I guess.
