It all sounds very interesting, but going by the picture on the link of similar solutions, they look like docks, designed to be left at home, and not very portable if going on holiday etc.
I'd be far more interested in some kind of upgradable internal solution. Similar to MXM, but targeting consumers rather than OEMs, and designed with upgrading as the main usage (unlike MXM which is simply designed to make life easier for the OEMs, and any upgrade capability is a side-effect of having a compatible bios).
