Some new Synaptics TouchPad drivers from HP/Compaq are now available, for both 32-bit and 64-bit systems.

Version: 15.0.9.0
Driver Date: February 18, 2010

Windows XP


Windows Vista/Windows 7

Release notes for this version are located within the setup packages.

yup, same here! i got a dell 1520.

things like 2 finger scrolling and three finger gestures and coasting working for me now. No pinch zoom though.

Oh I am using Acer Aspire 4530.
Looks like MultiTouch is a feature Synaptic Lock down which was unlock with this drivers.

yup, same here! i got a dell 1520.

The next release will include pinch zoom...I hope.

woah, this is freakin' awesome! Finally multitouch is unlocked, I always thought the hardware didn't support it!
Now I have a new thing to play with, yaaay :)

I too got this successfully installed on my Dell Vostro 1500, XP3.

I was wondering if anyone knows of any way to enable Pinch Zoom and other options that appear in the registry. Please see this post in the Synaptics thread for more info:

This worked great on my Sony VAIO AW series PC with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit! Finally, I have multi-touch gestures with my Synaptics TouchPad v7.0. :) :)

Great! worked on my Dell Inspiron 1520. I had to uninstall touchpad driver first though - through Add/remove programs. Now I can two-finger scroll like on a Macbook! Thanks
