I think it's funny...the last several desktop drivers to hit the street have included only the 9300M as far as mobile GPU's. One of the dev's must have a lappie that has that GPU.

I haven't been able to install any of the recent drivers, as they don't seem to be working with Win7 Ultimate x64.

This driver works with my Win7 x64. I have an ASUS G51VX w/ GTX 260m. The newest INF should be able to install on Windows 7

The INF i am using is 4.022.

When I try to install, it tells me that the driver I am trying to install is not intended for the operating system that I am using. The INF says that its for Win7 x64. That is what I am running. Win7 Ultimate x64.

Can you link me to the INF that you used to install so that I can try it? Just in case I am somehow getting a bad INF?

I am an administrator, do I have to do anything funky to make the install work? I am going through the device manager, and manually selecting the INF I want to update with. It just doesn't want to work. Bad Company 2 is not compatible with the driver that Sager has on their site. I get crazy graphical problems that lots of Sager users are reporting.

I don't know why the Mobile_Tweaks section has been removed. I had to add it back, because I couldn't adjust brightness without it. It also contains PowerMizer settings. =/

Otherwise, the driver performs mediocrely (3DMark wise). PhysX works (.0222 build) but DirectCompute doesn't report as working in GPU-Z.

You don't UPDATE over your current driver. You must first uninstall your current driver, reboot to safe mode (recommended), clean up the leftovers from the previous driver with Driver Sweeper and CCleaner, boot back and install the new driver via Device Manager using the "Have disk method" (don't forget to replace the original inf with the modified one).

From the front page:

INF V4.022

Sun, 21 Mar 2010 03:39:51 +0000

Lots of little changes/updates with this INF.

- Removed all of the 'Mobile' Tweaks, most are no longer needed or even used in any drivers.

- Added SLI setting common to all Mobile Drivers, hopefully fixes SLi BSOD issue.

- Added PhysX UI setting to enable this.

- Added a few new GPU's

- Renamed other GPU's (mostly Quadro NVS new naming scheme)

- Fixed some GPU's not calling 'Mobile' routines in INF (future proofing)

- WinXP x64 now also has 'Mobile' section in INF to add future tweaks.

Only driver with the above is 197.15 and all future drivers.

Tested on my rig, and all works as it did before

No problem installing these drivers. The only driver I couldn't install was 196.75. Anyway, did not notice any performance difference. It would appear that Powermizer is now enabled for HDMI. OS: Windows 7 Ultimate

There are no OEM drivers that use the powermizer settings anymore.

Thats's why I removed them.

Need to satisfy as many folk as possible :)

Shawn, you have to make sure the modded INF replaced the original one, ie it over writes it.

This is vital, or you'll get the error you've shown us.

The powermizer seems to work for me and new physx. GPU-Z reports that DirectCompute isn't enabled...

The games seem to be more fluid. Before this driver I used 195.81 beta with inf that I modified by myself.

Stupid Toshiba... I still have Brightness issue...

I added EnableBrightnessControl to the registry and it works but when I lower the brightness all the way, left of the screen is darker then the right.

Brightness works normally with toshiba drivers and my modded inf that I made from toshiba's one.

Any idea how to solve this?

tnx

PS

I attached the inf that I modded which brightness control works fine.

EDIT:

I fixed the problem by adding

PanelPWMFrequency,%REG_DWORD%,0xCD

to the registry.

The value I found in the original INF that was provided by vendor of my laptop toshiba.

OMG... <sigh> I didnt realize that the INF files I was downloading were nvdisp.inf.txt because of right click saving them. now that I renamed it, and over wrote the old file, it works fine.

I feel really lame.

Thanks guys!

Powermizer is a valuable feature and am glad that it now works with HDMI. Those who wish to disable this feature because you can't get full performance when required, just use "manage 3d settings" in control panel. Choose an application and set "power management mode" to "prefer maximum performance".

Same issue here.

The value I found in the original INF that was provided by vendor of my laptop toshiba so you need to check driver form your vendor and see what value you need to enter. For me it is in hex CD and now everything works fine.

If you need help with this, contact me.

Hope it helps.

Been having some crashes with these drivers in Call to Pripyet. Screen goes black but game still running. Must force shutdown then reboot in order to reset driver otherwise GPU will not run at maximum.
