I'm actually having no luck with these. When you try to install it, it looks like it's installed properly, but when you go to the device manager, you realise that it's actually not installed anything.

It appears that these are only for USB touchpads. I will now try to mod the INF...

Ok, try this INF for 64-bit systems. Just replace the original synpd.inf with it, and then install the driver. It should work for all systems, but the videos won't work on HP systems.

I can confirm that the modded inf works here, thanks. Curiously, it displays 'Evaluation Copy' when you goes to the Synaptics tab in the Windows Mouse setup, though I doubt that means much.

Yeah, it does that for me too. I'm not sure if its because I modded the INF or if it has something to do with the driver itself, but it shouldn't make any difference.

Here's my modded inf for 32bit systems. Videos are working but it also says "Evaluation Copy".
Works fine on my Acer.
This driver revision also fixes my "scrolling with up/down key does not work after hibernate" problem.

Regarding the EVALUATION COPY message... it's more or less explained in the official Synaptics changelog. Here's an excerpt:

removed from the control panel.
