mobilenvidia
Something a little different from NV drivers Found these over MSUpdate. Very latest set meant for Lenovo Thinkpad Ultrapoint Nav Device. Should work for all. Synaptics Touchpad 15.0.18.

Shakey_Jake33
I'm actually having no luck with these. When you try to install it, it looks like it's installed properly, but when you go to the device manager, you realise that it's actually not installed anything. Michael Marley
It appears that these are only for USB touchpads. I will now try to mod the INF...
Michael Marley
Ok, try this INF for 64-bit systems. Just replace the original synpd.inf with it, and then install the driver. It should work for all systems, but the videos won't work on HP systems.
Shakey_Jake33
I can confirm that the modded inf works here, thanks. Curiously, it displays 'Evaluation Copy' when you goes to the Synaptics tab in the Windows Mouse setup, though I doubt that means much. http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/784/64244469.jpg Edited May 26, 2010 by Shakey_Jake33
Michael Marley
Yeah, it does that for me too. I'm not sure if its because I modded the INF or if it has something to do with the driver itself, but it shouldn't make any difference. Zak
Here's my modded inf for 32bit systems. Videos are working but it also says "Evaluation Copy". Works fine on my Acer. This driver revision also fixes my "scrolling with up/down key does not work after hibernate" problem. synpd_x86.zip Edited June 28, 2010 by Zak
Guest ®®®
Regarding the EVALUATION COPY message... it's more or less explained in the official Synaptics changelog. Here's an excerpt: Version 8.0.13 06/17/2005 (Win9x&ME/WinNT/Win2K/WinXP) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bug Fixes -Add the text 'Evaluation Copy' to the Mouse Properties window title for drivers that have not been certified. Version 7.8.11 12/11/2003 (Win9x&ME/WinNT/Win2K/WinXP) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Enhancements -The SQA certification dialog has been removed from the Enh App, and is replaced with a [ EVALUATION COPY ] string message that can be seen in the control panel device settings panel. This string will be located below the driver version information string. When the driver has been properly certified by Synaptics SQA, the strings [ EVALUATION COPY ] will be removed from the control panel.
