Do these Realtek audio drivers provide better performance or any advantages over the default Windows 7 High Definition Audio drivers?

Oh, yes. They provide hardware-specific customizations and sometimes enable support for output ports that aren't supported in the MS driver. If you have a Realtek audio chipset, you should definitely install this driver.

I've never had a problem with missing ports, but thanks for clearing that up! I will be sure to install it.

They also enable an option for mic feedback reduction, filtering of your speaker output from your what's recorded by your mid, which is handy for VoiP and game chat.

Perhaps we should add this to the Realtek driver page ...
