The notebook version for Win 7 x64 installs only HD Audio driver on my Sony Vaio AW290. Doesn`t it recognize my 9600M GT or what?

Did you fully remove your old driver and re-install the new one?

The links for the windows 7 notebook drivers area dead! Please update! Also the beta is over for 258.96 and new drivers were released on July the 19th 2010.

Desktop drivers here: http://www.nvidia.co...us&type=GeForce

But we really need the laptop versions to download.

Official Nvidia Driver never support SONY Laptops hence I will never buy them.
Makes no sense for SONY to NOT LET Nvidia support them considering the GPU is the same.

When I go here: http://us.download.n...tional_whql.exe it says "File not found".

If it does work for you please upload it somewhere else.

I guess I`ll have to wait for a version with modified INF file.

The beta drivers caused the powermizer not to work and caused crashes on several computers I tried them on, including my notebook. Gonna skip this release until they fix the glaring issues with these drivers. These are just the BETA with WHQL added.

Fixed the Windows Vista and Windows 7 notebook driver links -- NVIDIA had changed the file names to the downloads and that was why the links were broken.

On the Nvidia board a handful of people are complaining, doesn't seem to active though. On a side note, I went to get the latest 3D Vision drivers and they come with Geforce 258.91, something to look at.

*Correction*
They are misslabled, it is 258.96 in the driver back

And I found that while I was cleaning out the drivers, the PhysX drivers weren't uninstalling. I uninstalled them and hopefully it will work a bit better, I'll report back.

Your 8600M GS shouldn't even support physx processing with newer drivers. The older drivers work with 16+ Cuda cores but the newer one's only work with 32+ Cuda cores. :interesting:
