GabSoftware
Hello, I have a Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Xi 1554. I already had to replace the original graphic card, an ATI Mobility Radeon x1900, by an ATI Mobility Radeon HD3650 256 MB (red PCB) bought from MXM-Upgrade. My bios is 1.25 and video drivers are the latest available from the ATI website. System is Windows 7 x64. I am facing two problems since the replacement of the x1900 : - The S-Video output does not work, even with forcing detection. Actually, I think the DVI output will also not work, but I haven't tested. But I remember that with the X1900 I had two graphic cards listed in the device manager, and now I have only one. So I guess there is something wrong here. Does someone know if the HD3650 support TV-out and dual screen ? - The laptop is not recognized as "Amilo Xi 1526" instead of "Amilo Xi 1554". Could it be the source of the previous issue ? - I see that there is a new bios for the Amilo Xi 1526 (1.27) but not for the Amilo Xi 1554 (latest is 1.25). However the bios for 1554 was also the same as for 1526, 1547 and 1547. It seems that only the 1526 got a new version of the bios. What do I risk if I try to upgrade my bios to the 1.27 version ? (as my laptop is recognized as 1526...) And finally : - I would like to fix the DSDT of the laptop because the FAN is too lazy and NHC does not work under Windows 7 x64 (NHC dev, time to wake up?). I am able to fix the DSDT. I do it by extracting it from the bios using Phoenix Bios Editor, modifying it and replacing the orignal DSDT in the bios. However, I am affraid of trying to flash this custom bios. Is there someone who already did such a thing and was it successful ?
facey
I never had any issues with TV-out when I was running the 3650 on xi1546 although I had a start up issue with the card, it just wouldn't cold boot. I tried several different system bios including the 1.27 which made no difference. The problem I had installing the bios was that if I had a different mxm card in the system the bios showed as xi1526 but I could not install a fujitsu bios as it told me the system model was incorrect, so the only thing I could do was put my original x1800 in the system to install the 1.27 FSC bios I'm now running 8600GT with alienware bios 2.06, I have no issues with HDMI or tv-out Hope this helps

I have tried GeForce 9500 GS with my Amilo Xi1546 and bios FSC 1.15. System started but from time to time screen flashes and sometimes freezes. I would like to try with alienware bios, maybe this will fix a problem. But to download these bioses you must be an Alieware client. Could you post or email that bios? Never owned an Alienware so don't know them too well. 5500 is the same than Uniwill 259EN1. 5500i R3 = 259EN3?, I have the 2.03 BIOS from Alienware, so if it's needed i will post a link for download. protivakid
I know this is an old post but did you ever get the DVI out working? Experiencing the same with a 9600M GT though the 8600M GT works. Tried multiple VBIOS' on the 9600M and a DVI>VGA adapter works fine. I have a feeling this a lost cause and would need to be modified at the BIOS level but wasn't sure if anyone here got it working.
