Phew... doesn't anybody read the FAQs anymore...The original inf supports just a couple of mobile cards - perhaps the developers'...

No, I couldn't do that, cause can't find it in driver folder, so I used direct link to modified driver

When I start the installation, it throws message - that compatible devices not found. So I used Nvidia Mobility Modder from http://www.hardwareheaven.com/nvmodtool.php to modify drivers. Then again started the installation - it began normaly, but at the end it shows an error.

I have a sony vgc-rt150y with a nvidia 9600M GT. I've tried downloading update drivers here, with the IMF but when I try to run the update, I end up with the following error message: Windows foudn driver software for your device but encountered an error while trying to install it. The system connot find the file specified.

What am I doing wrong? Is there an easier way to update the driver? I'm trying to get on StarCraft II but it says my video card drivers aren't current. The version I'm running is from 2008, and the sony website doesn't have updates.

Any help would be appreciated!

I'm very very sorry. Everything worked perfectly as you said. It was my mistake. I was trying to install 260.99 not 261.00. And there wasn't inf for it. :) :) :P. 261.00 with modified inf installed perfectly. Great thanks ! :unsure:

There was a clear difference in benchmarks between 260.99 and 261.00, 261 being the better one.

This is the weirdest thing, the x86 INF officially supports my card (NVIDIA_DEV.0407.01 = "NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT") but the x64 INF does not...WTF?
