Michael Marley
use driver for your card dont force new.... that why Uh, no. A majority of new drivers work well even with older cards, even 7x00 cards. "Using the driver for his/her card" would probably mean using an old 16x.xx version released by the OEM, which would bring a huge performance decrease. Using recent desktop/quadro drivers on laptops is the reason this site exists. If it didn't work most of the time, there would be no need for LV2G. BP13
I think the Geforce 6 and up series can install all newer drivers. I tried them on a Geforce 4 MX and it was unable to start the driver. I don't know it it works on the geforce 5 series though. I have a entry level Geforce Go 6150 and I install all of the new drivers when I can. Currently at 265.90. rubertu_24
I've got BSOD with every driver of the line 265.X, 263.14 simply didn't even managed to install it. Now 266.x is out so it seems BSOD continues, it's the 6th driver in a row to cause this, man what come be that wrong lately for this amount of error. Lets hope for this to be fixed soon. Last driver to work properly is 263.09 for me at least, I've a 9600M GT.
