uhm the driver download is only 19mb ??! must be a mistake. cheers

The driver either hasn't been fully uploaded yet or they've screwed up a third driver in a row.

Either way you don't need the driver from here, just download the INF from this site, download the international version and unzip it using Winrar. Copy and replace the INF in the Dispaly Driver folder and you are done. Install and go.

This is yet another horrible driver from Nvidia, ever since the release of the 2xx.xx driver set I have been unable to use my 8800M. The system does one of 3 things:

1.) The screen turns black and red and locks up. CTRL+ALT+DELETE does nothing.

2.) The system just hard locks forcing a reset. CTRL+ALT+DELETE does nothing.

3.) The system hard locks and a few seconds later the screen turns off. CTRL+ALT+DELETE does nothing.

I sent the HP HDX9494NR back to HP for repair twice, the've replaced the screen, motherboard and fans but the Notebook continues to do this. There are two fixes for the issue that I have found:

1.) Use Forceware 257.21 and the problem dosen't occur, but I lose out on all the new optimizations that I require.

2.) Add a 3D app to start when windows starts as having a 3D app running in the background causes the system to be stable, but I need to be careful, if I turn off the 3D app to say play Wolrd Of Warcraft and I don't start it fast enough one of the issues from above occurs.

Very disapointed in the state Nvidia's driver team is heading.

hey man, welcome to the forum, or just haven't noticed you before. I'm a Dragon owner as well, suffering the same lame driver problems as you through all 2xx sets. Not sure I tried the 257.21 though. What optimization capabilities do you lose? Anyway, was curious if you are aware of this thread over at NBR for the Dragon: http://forum.notebookreview.com/hp-envy-hdx/515212-official-hp-hdx-9000-dragon-owners-lounge-2-a.html Won't necessarily fix your driver issue, but a lot of helpful folks over there for other things. Cheers.

"required files are missing." Downloaded from nVidia the drivers, copied over this .inf. Checked the .inf after copying over, 8800 GTX is in there, still comes back with "required files are missing."

The drivers from lv2go are probably packed differently so you need to download the driver from lv2go, too.

I downloaded the official drivers from nvidia, and replaced the original inf with the modded inf. The setup could not complete installation because "required files are missing."

You must also download the driver from here.
