It looks like a lot of info is old, regarding which laptops are compatible with which MXM cards and such.

I am today seeking a new laptop, and I'd like one with an MXM3 standard card so I can update later should I wish to do so. (some other reasons are far more bizarre, I'll not talk about them to avoid looking just plain insane :) )

I'm looking for MXM3 card, ExpressCard 54 slot, and backlit keyboard with numeric keypad in 15inch-ish widescreen size. Anything else I want is pretty standard (SD slot, changable SATA DVD drive) I'll take DVI and eSATA connectors if I can get them.

So, since it seems difficult to find any real detail about what's inside a laptop, how does one go about researching a suitable machine these days?

Getting that info isn't too easy - this is all what's easy to find  about MXM3: http://www.mxm-upgra...om/Table_3.html
