You need to copy over the OEM settings or use the OEM inf (nvszc for Vaio FZ). Your method will still work, but in this case, the GPU would be using the settings meant for Toshiba laptops. The section numbers in the infs are not the same across all inf's, they vary with every OEM's inf.

I use the modded version on my Windows 8 RP and in fact I have better performance with older dirvers, I'm not sure if is because of all the other dirvers are for Windows 7 and this is specific for Windows 8, but this is my favorite of all for now. If I use the Pieter's modded inf with my OEM inf is better? Please tell me what can I need to change and how. PD: I'll be waiting for your modded inf. zipper
An observation of the latest drivers - can't say exactly where it started. Hardware accelerated IE 9 began to cause first flashing screen and then NVidia crash and recovery when many tabs were opened. So I had to disable hw acc. from the internet settings - at least so far no crashes but must test further.

zipper
It's in the Verde driver downloadable from NVidia for the supported laptops - seems to be the usual list including some Vaios and comments about Fujitsu; no Hybrid Power.
DenisDiamond
So hi, i do not have any clue with this stuff the only thing i want to know is: i bought a custom made Laptop at www.one.de ( http://www.one.de/shop/product_info.php?cPath=203&products_id=6890 ) Same like a MSI GT70 0NC (http://de.msi.com/product/nb/GT70-0NC.html#/?div=Driver&os=Win7%2032) And i chose the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675M. So my Laptop arrived at Wednesday everything was fine accept that i'm using a Video Card with no drivers... The best thing is to rip this s*** out and throw it against a wall or what? I know i'm totally in the wrong place but i dont know what to do.
Beyond
Welcome to LaptopVideo2Go Denis! This site is the right place for you. Read the article explaining what is a modded inf and the one explaining how to install a driver with the modded inf. After you learn that if you still have any doubt please ask it in that same thread you're having trouble with. Good luck :) Edit: I'm not sure but I think that the how to use modded inf instructions may be a little outdated. If you find anywhere saying to copy the moddified inf to the driver folder, copy it to the display.driver folder instead. nuthman
I tried to use the attached modded inf posted by coolguy for my 8400M GT in windows 8, 64bit. (Vaio VGN-FZ280E). When I replace the inf file with the attached one and run the installation, It gets past the incorrect hardware error, but then I get this: NVIDIA Installer cannot continue. Required files are missing. Any ideas?
