important things we have to say

Caution: We try to make these files as safe as possible, but they might not be official and might not be specifically designed for your hardware.

Use at your own risk.

The nViSiON team takes NO responsibility for ANY failure/malfunction/burning of components due to OverClocking, BadFlashing, Flashing at all nor do we support Flashing & OverClocking.

It's just for backup and archive reasons plus it has an informational purpose and shall not animate or encourage to flash your card.

Use it with care, know what you do, we don't take any responsibility for anything that might happen regarding your or your laptops health.

  • Before you consider flashing your mobile GPU you need to have ready to use the following:
  • The original BIOS backed up.
  • a working and plugged in Power AC Adapter
  • a PCI capable Docking station ready to use in case this BIOS is not designed for your mobile GPU and you can't see the Boot Screen.
  • a PCI Video card that will actually override the laptops one (modern cards might not do that, you need to test that BEFORE).
  • an external monitor.
  • Absolutely no fear of what might happen or money growing on trees where a replacement laptop is not a problem.

We (and also NVIDIA) can't & will not support you if something goes wrong! It's your own responsibility.

Thanks Guest. Have you tried to run the enhanced tool attached HERE? It seems that you used some older version of the batch. The enhanced version has NV D.I.R.T. included (made by Teraphy). It should give more needed details.

Yes, i have enhanced the version a bit and included Teraphy's Nvidia tools. This would be a welcome test :)

I hope that helped. All drivers on the XPS2 do not hold overclock setting except for the auto overclock which trys to run the memory at 545 mhz and the memory will not change from 533 (ddr1066). Do you have ant idea weather this is a bios limitation?

Guest, can you attach a screenshot from RayAdamsBIOS Editor (load the dumped BIOS.rom from NVDiRT into it)?

The Go6800 Ultra needs a lot of Power, maybe NVidia disabled the OC menu inernally in the driver for them to prevent any damage or heat due to OverClocking.

It would be great if you run the new version of NVDIRT and attach the complete LaptopVideo2Go_LogFile.txt :) It should include even more details about EDID and GPU....

I know it's looks weird (wrong codepage for you?). You're not on an english OS?? But best is it worked, though i found a glitch:

CurrentClockSpeed : 798

CurrentClockSpeed : 1995

Thank you!

It stuck flashing on and off until I pressed a key.
Normally it shows you a text in english which should "calm down" the User :) but as we see on the screenshot there is something wrong displying each and every line of text. I also wonder why the VideoBIOS is not dumped correctly: the BIOS version, the signon message, OEM string, ControlBlock version etc. are obviously wrong.

Any update on this? Can we get the bios from the Sager 9880 Geforce Go 6800 (bios: 5.41.02.39.38) flashed over to Dell's? The Sager's bios allows manual overcloacking while Dell's does not.

Alright...I am absolutely terrified of trying this...so I won't. I am not even sure if I will get any performance enhancement from flashing my bios. I don't have a floppy drive either, so according to all the guides, theres no way I can do this. :)

Attached is BIOS 3938 for the go6800 Ultra thanks to Gevo for sending it :)

This could have fixed Cosmo's problem.

This is directly from Clevo.

Even though the file says nv42 it is actually for the NV41, as there was no NV42 ever made. :)
