Can you tell me the latest A11 bios for the Dell latitude D505. When I try to update from Dell, The program tells me that I am trying to update to an older Bios. I need to update as I have a password protected bios and have no password. ( Second Hand)
Thanks
Paul Hemming

I just got a dell disc which clears the BIOS password... it deletes the service tag, then all you do is re-enter the tag again, and its all sorted! my 2nd hand m1710 motherboard had a locked bios. Just found the dell disk online earlier. Was very useful!

Very useful for laptop-nappers, I would think!
Go to my website.
Do NOT send me PMs asking for help. I will not respond. Instead, make a post in the forum so that everyone can read it.

Well, yes :P but as i got my motherboard from ebay (was BIOS locked) then its quite useful, especially as I bought it at a reduced price because of it... However, it does NOT unlock the hard drive password... (AKA the grey screen of death)

The Driver for XPS M1530 is OUT OF DATE. The latest version is A09 (which I am using). Check the dell website. ;)

How dis you run this software? My inspiron 1501 goes almost imediate to HDD Password screen. No chance to get into the bios, no boot from CD.

It only sorted out the BIOS passwords, not the grey HDD password screen. From my knowledge and trawling of the net, there isn't a way around that.
