Modified inf for the MEDION MD41300 owners
You can find the MEDION MD41300 Driver Page at this address: jeroen.laptopvideo2go.com

Attention: I don't have this laptop anymore, so giving support on it might be hard sometimes! I'll try my best to help you! I did never use Vista on this, so I have no clue which drivers are working and which not! If you want a Vista driver, get them of the site and use the inf enhancer to include TV out fixes!

BTW: the 91.31 is the last driver I modded/tested for this laptop, though I should advice to stay at 84.21.

Updates:

JUN 29, 2006 - Updated to 91.31 (Pieter's 31.73) after some testing with 90.xx Beta's :) This one works quite good, has some small bugs (TV Out settings don't get remembered)
Link: 91.31_NVIDIA_GeForce_Go53xx.rar

May 26, 2006 - Fixed the Synaptics scroll buttons. Download the reg and just double click it. Link: touchpad.reg

April 16, 2006 - I have created a small tool to change the media buttons (the four buttons next to the Wireless and Power button).
.NET FrameWork 2.0 is required for this app. (you can download from the Microsoft download site)
You should read the readme.txt in the archive! Link: LaunchManager.rar

Also to mention, the third (TV) button seems to not work (on my computer). I will try to fix that later!
Another thing, the wireless screen that hangs (for about 2minutes) is also fixed now!
Let me know if you have any problems!

April 14, 2006 - Added sn0wl's VMR fix (thread)
- Updated to Pieter's 31.55 inf

April 13, 2006- MEDION Finally updated the wireless lan driver. The connection problems seem to be gone now!
Download the updated driver here.

March 18, 2006 - updated to 84.21 after a long time of no new drivers :P (Pieter's 31.52a inf).
Download Driver

This is actually Pieter's inf but it has the tv-out fix for the MEDION MD41300 notebook. With Pieter's inf's the TV-out didn't seem to work anymore. So I asked what I should do here. They helped me and gave some lines that were in the original MEDION drivers (47.13) and I only had to add them in the inf of all other drivers I wanted to use. But to make it other MEDION MD41300 users easy I posted the fixed inf on the forum and I also made a webpage where you can download the drivers (+ all other updated drivers for this notebook)

I will add my inf's here when I have a new one or something!
You can find my MEDION MD41300 driver page here.

Also I made the inf only working with the GeForce FX Go5350 card, because if you install it on another inf you can cause damage on that card (found that problem on my desktop). The driver seems to work well on GeForce 5300 cards too (MEDION MD40100 has it).

If you have any problems or questions, you can ask them here! :)

Enjoy!
Jeroen

Updated. 77.72 is the driver you should use now. Will test the driver later when I have some more time (I'm just back a few days from holiday! :) )

I just have 1 question: How do you change the topic (sub)title ? There still is standing "updated June, 11th 2005", I should like to change it everytime I update the inf! :)

Thx!
Jeroen

One of the mods will have to change it, I would change it for you, but I can't. :)
Maybe regular users should be able to change topic titles, or atleast subtitles?
I'm pretty sure you could have that option. (looks at ®®® and Teraphy)

Anyway next mod that reads this should change for you.

A selfmade man!
I remember Jeroen posting his test results of different settings which were known to have an effect to TV-Out. Oodles of reboots, and got not tired until he found the solution for working TV-Out

:) work

Link in my signature is fixed!
The tv out fix gives you some more information about what was changed in the inf. It is already integrated in the driver link is 81.98 now [ url removed ] or in the inf [ url removed ].

Thanx Jeroen for this good work.

But my MD41300 makes some troubles:
  • When I shut down the computer I get an error for the nvsvc32.exe.
  • The TV out works but I the TV-screen is only black'n'white. (For viewing on TV I use the original (Medion) S-Video-> Video adaptor)
Do you know why it comes to this problems?

Thank You
MZimmer275

The nvsvc32.exe crash is a known problem!
see topic to solve it, and to see what it does.

For the TV-out b&w problem, I hadn't got any adaptor with my laptop!
propably you have selected the wrong tv type (NTSC/PAL) or you have a bad cable!
there are a lot of posts about that in the forums!

What I use to connect my pc to tv is this:
- S-VHS to composite convertor like this (put into the s-vhs port of the laptop)
Posted Image

- a composite cable like this (goes into the s-vhs convertor by one side and the scart by the other side)
Posted Image

- a scart component (composite cable goes into the yellow video port)
Posted Image

and for the audio you should use a regular audio cable that goes into the red&white ports by one side and the stereo jack in the laptop by the other side!

All you have to do after that is set up your tv correctly in the control pannel (normally it automatically takes your tv settigs, but if it's b&w you should edit them to the good ones)

success!
jeroen.

Hi there!

®®® told me in http://forums.laptop...?showtopic=8753, I should write my prob with the TV-card in here.

I have a MD41300 laptop and his TV device seems malfunctioning. It shows only green screen. Aerial wire and composite(VHS) are connected, but no pic. 3times I´ve reset it with application&support DVD, but no success. I tried WinXP prof and original software from the Medion DVD. Screen stays green. I put another harddisk in with Home Edition and the tv drivers and homecinema installed by myself. Nothing. I tried different cables without any reaction. drivers are medion originals.

Medion don´t answer to my mail, cause I have ONLY payed 1479 Euros for this, so I can´t except support (sarkasm).

Devicemanager shows all OK, but the diagnostic tool SIW.exe (by Gabriel Topala) displays under hardware->memory, that the 2nd memoryslot have 0MB. Original RAM is in, so two slots are in use. 1st slot is shown with 256MB, 2nd seems have no capacity. Taskmanager shows 512MB. Is this OK and could it be the cause for green TV?

...SIW.exe (by Gabriel Topala) displays under hardware->memory, that the 2nd memoryslot have 0MB...

This is possibly a glitch with SIW (which otherwise is a great free tool :) ). Try using in this case an alternative like Everest home v2.20 (latest for free). Sometimes these tools are not able to read out properly Laptop specifics as DMI information is missing/not complete or not properly implemented by Laptop manufacturer/Software engineers.

Missing RAM should not affect your TV-Output as side notice. I remember Jeroen had to send in the Laptop to MEDiON Support to change mainboard (TV-out was broken, too), so prepare to do so. Unless he might have a better suggestion or simple solution.

Winz, just a question, are you talking about the TV-device (to watch tv on this laptop) or the tv-out port ?

As for the tv-device: I remember having that too, but it has been a long time since I ever used that device (doesn't look very useful to me as the quality is below average etc.)
Are you sure you have connected the COAX properly? Or are you sure you have searched for a good channel (UHF, VHF,...) ?
I think it gives a green sceen in case of the "snow" you see on a normal TV!

As for the tv-out, it should look very strange if it gives a GREEN screen unless you tv's standard screen for EXT is green (as it is blue with me)!
In that case ,you should make sure to have all cables connected properly (look one of the posts above to see which cables to use) and to have the tv settings set up properly! (as I see you're from germany it should be PAL!)

let us know if you have any result!!

BTW: for the ram problem, I also think what ®®® says that this is a little bug in SIW.exe ! And I also should advice you to use something like Everest home or SiSoft Sandra! ;-)

jeroen.

the prob is the tv-device to watch tv on laptop. I never use the tv-out, cause the pic on normal TV is very blurred.

I use the device to record old VHS onto VCD.

I will check today my coaxcable and then post the result here.Maybe this is the cause for my displeasure.

SIW.exe was erased, i used memtest86+ and ram is OK.

So thanks for the moment.
