hi!

This is John again.

The BIOS Update worked out perfectly with a small trick. Anyway it didn't delete the forgotten BIOS password I had. So it opened the notebook and took out the BIOS battery for a whole week, but it didn't help either to get BIOS settings deleted. Then I found the jumper and tried every combination until it finally deleted the settings and my laptop began running again.

But NOW, I got a different problem. With 1 GB Ram in the laptop and some optimizations I switched to Windows Vista for testing reason, but also if it works out for business to stay with Vista.

First of all, I really need a driver for the Geforce Go 5350. The strange thing is that when I tested Vista Release Candidate 2, the windows update gave me a driver for the Geforce with 56.23 or so. But now, Windows Update still leaves me with 5 devices without drivers.
And second of all, I need a driver for the TV-Card, I exchanged with the DVD-burner.

Thanks for any driver suggestions, you can give me.

Anyone else, tested Vista on his MD41300???

Is there anyway to get Aero running?

Can I just try the XP drivers or is that no good?

Best Regards,
John

Hi John,

Ive installed Vista yesterday on my MD41300 with Aerosupport!

Take the following driver from here: Forceware 97.54 with the Custom INF attached with it. This driver installed without any problem on my MD41300.

1Gig RAM ist recommended!

Install the Intel Chipsetdriver by hand and not with the installer. Grab on the Intel website a chipset driver for the 865PE Chipset. The Chipsetpacket can be found here:

http://downloadcente...s...32&lang=eng

Installing/Updating all Intel Devices in the Device Manager does the job! The Driver ist placed in the Directory all with th name 865.inf . Don't forget the USB Devices!

You can take the Realtek Vista drivers from their website to have some Sound on the MD41300.

This Custom Wireless Driver is a very good one (also goes very well on XP) and is far better than the Medion one!

Link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=K8Z8AX8H

This will do the job to get Vista running on your MD41300 :)

Hi Jassy!

Here are my results:
1Gig RAM ist recommended!
I have 2 GB RAM

Install the Intel Chipsetdriver by hand and not with the installer. Grab on the Intel website a chipset driver for the 865PE Chipset. Installing/Updating all Intel Devices in the Device Manager does the job! The Driver ist placed in the Directory all with th name 865.inf . Don't forget the USB Devices!
Correctly done!

You can take the Realtek Vista drivers from their website to have some Sound on the MD41300.
Done!

The Custom Wireless Driver is a very good one (also goes very well on XP) and is far better than the Medion one!
Done!

Take the following driver from here: Forceware 97.54 with the Custom INF attached with it. This driver installed without any problem on my MD41300.
And now - there is the problem - setup failed! Error Code -6003 (I used the ORIGINAL nv_disp.inf and i have uninstalled the old software before) :) :)

Can you help me???

Greetings from germany - MagiX

Hi MagiX,

Vielleicht kannste mal versuchen der Driver manuell zu installieren, vielleicht das es dann klappt! Es kann sein das bei dir die nVidia Installer probleme macht! Vergesse nicht die Custom INF zu benutzen, sonst lauft es nicht!

Hi MagiX,

You can try to install this driver by hand, maybe that will solve the problem. It can be that the nVidia Installer makes some problems by you. Don't forget to use the custom INF attached to the Forum Topic of the driver, otherwise the device doesn't install!

Viel glück!

Gr Jasper

Hi Jasper!

Hello there,

what's currently the best NVIDIA Driver version for the Medion MD41300 with Nvidia GeForce FX Go 5350 card??
OS: Windows XP Pro SP3

Are there any settings/tweaks, that I can use to get best performance for gaming?

I just got a new router for christmas, but the Medion 41300 with the Prism WiFi mini pci card is unable to find my accespoint, tried everything...
So now i want to install a new WiFi card with N speed, is that possible? Or does it only accept G speed? Or do i have to take some other things in consideration when installing a new wifi card in this laptop?? Thanx in advance :)
Edit: NVM i bought myself an external N card from sitecom and it works great :)

I'm trying to keep up Jeroens's good work.
On my website you will find the latest Windows XP drivers for the Medion MD 41300 that I could find.
One problem is the graphic card driver, because I don't know which version is the best for this card.

Sorry, but the page is in german only.
Medion MD 41300 driver downloads

If someone has a better graphic car driver, than Jeroens last one, please let me know.
