It affects output of DXDIAG and other stuff. As a workaround put the extracted files on your Desktop and start NERD.cmd (make sure the "files" directory is present).2006-03-18 / v1.052:- added NV_MXM to determine if MXM upgradeability is available (coded by Teraphy :P )- removed WMI_CPU & upgraded to CHKCPU v1.11- added a load of PCI/AGP device information with help of PCI32 v1.4- fixed LCD Screen Size logging 2006-02-22 / v1.044:- merged updated v1.044 .CMD file to v1.041 package (so only 1 download now) 2005-08-31 / v1.044:- added hint that INFO for the Forum Registration Process can be found at the bottom of the Logfile (thanks vegamanx ) 2005-08-24 / v1.043:- removed dump of the VBIOS as it differs with what NVFLASH dumps (thanks MAVKE )- corrected a typo, which prevented the listing of your LCD screen model 2005-08-21 / v1.041:- BEDUMP.exe replaces NVBIOS.exe & NVEDID.exe- summarized all the info you need when registering at our forum (except internal LCD name). Look at the bottom of the LogFile for this info.- BIOS dumps with version info as filename 2005-08-16 / v1.035:- added section of Information you will appreciate for the LaptopVideo2Go Registration process (thanks to the suggestion from one of our new members)- enhanced output to Logfile (Time related) 2005-07-09 / v1.027 /146DLs:- enhanced output to Logfile (DXDIAG related) 2005-07-08 / v1.020:- added DXDIAG 2005-05-31 / v1.015:- made a change to quit NERD immediately after EDID readout- corrected 2K behaviour- made a change when files subdir is not found (error handling) 2005-05-19: i made some effort and updated that post. Now NERD is officially available for everyone. The tools developed by Teraphy's and the old specs.bat are now merged to an all-in-one package (NERD). DOWNLOAD [NERD v1.086] (378.440 bytes)NERD.cmd uses the following tools (all included in the package):- LV2GO_DIRT.exe: Display Information Retrieval Tool. Coded by Teraphy.- LV2GO_EDID.exe: Reads out EDID. Coded by Teraphy.- LV2GO_MXM.exe: Checks for MXM compatibilty. Coded by Teraphy.- DEVCON.exe: A MS file for reading out Device specifics.- CHKCPU.exe: Reads out verbose CPU info- PCI32.exe: Reads out loads of PCI/AGP device info- reg.exe: only needed for Windows 2000. In order for a succesfull run of NERD.cmd these must be placed in a subdirectory called 'files'. Which actually is being realized by the default ZIP extraction process. INSTRUCTIONS Extract the downloaded file anywhere. Start "NERD.cmd" and read the short text. Press any key and wait until it is finished and have a look at the "LaptopVideo2Go_LogFile.txt". Then (ZIP and) attach it in the appropiate topic of the VideoBIOS section or where it was requested. Do _not_ copy, paste and post the complete output. Attachment is the way to go :) For an example of the information output, pls. have a look at the attached logfile in the next post. usable with Windows 2000, XP and 2003 NOTE: NVEDID _can_ create a weird looking fullscreen window. Don't abort the process, although it can take a while until it finishes EDID readout. thanks to Bill, hazart, sn0wl for testing ~50+26+4+228+21+146+33+646 Edited August 22, 2007 by ®®®

Guest Lost_and_hungry
It could be exhaustion, but for the life of me, I can't find the .exe files anywhere using Vista. I see one Application and in the files folder, see eight of them...any help? http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/style_...willy_nilly.gif
®®®
It's not NERD.EXE, it's NERD.CMD.
Guest Lost_and_hungry
I wasn't clear enough in my first post: I ran the .CMD file and the screen directed me to "re-extract the NERD.zip and copy all 4 .exe files to the subdirectory you see below: " "C:\Users\Jack\AppData\Local\Temp\Temp2_nerd_v1.086.zip\files" My problem is locating the 4 .exe files it's referring to. When I open the "files" folder in the .zip folder, I see seven .exe files. :) So which files am I mistaking? :)
®®®
You are right there are more than 4 .EXE files existant (as i added more information readout over time, but forgot to change that number). The thing is -as shown above in your reply- you didn't extract the .ZIP to any location, but just opened the .ZIP and doubleclicked the NERD.cmd... which will bring no results and that's where my check jumps in :) So the quickest and easiest way is to download the NERD, save it to the harddrive, open you explorer, rightclick the .ZIP file and select 'extract'. Done.
Guest Lost_and_hungry
Great news! I followed the instructions in your last post, and it ran the program without the previous request. Bad news! After 7 or 8 "Cancel or Allow" requests (Vista), the black screen with the title NERD asked to proceed. I pressed any key and got the following message: Title: 16 bit MS DOS Subsystem "This system does not support full screen mode. Choose "Close" to terminate the application." After choosing "Ignore," my CPU usage went from ~5% to ~50% and stayed that way (with nothing happening) for 6 minutes before I manually closed the program. FUN :) I give up. Thanks for the help anyway.
