Read the XFree86 docs for the driver options, you may have to pass the
option which details how many wires control the LCD display. I can't
remember the exact details as I was reading up on problems for my adapter.
A black portion of the screen to me indicates that the driver is ignoring or
unaware of the wires which run that section of the screen.
Interesting huh?
