Jeroen
How would i get the non beta versions of these drivers to work with my Geforce Go 7900GTX? Because it isn't listed on the compatibility list (no notebook cards are).. Do I have to wait for XG or LV2GO to release modded versions or is there a way I can do it myself? I haven't tried the WHQL ones as they are atall just in case it isn't compatible (which the ccompatibility list suggests they are not compatible). The WHQL version of this driver should be reuploaded :) Temporary you can download the (huge) installer from the nVidia site, extract it (with WinRAR) and add the attached inf to the driver. This will also work :)

This will also work :) I did that in the end with the XG mobileforce beta ones (I already had those versions). I copied the whole XG Mobileforce 91.31 directory into the nVidia one, but didn't allow any files to overwrite other than the inf (I think the Mobileforce tweaked ones have a few more files and the modded inf refers to them). Seems to work just fine, although I still get the "SLI Multi GPU Disabled" message, so I just disabled the control panel.
Guest nhan
After I installed this mod, everything ran fine except: when i reboot or shutdown this nvsvc32.exe application pop an error with memory access violation etc... click ok to terminate or cancel to debug. Anyone knows what to fix this ? Thanks
Jeroen
The attached .reg-file should fix the SLI problem! I didn't test it yet (also because I don't get that warning), but some people reported that it works! EDIT: See Fabrice's post below for the right key, there was a little typo in it :) Edited June 26, 2006 by Jeroen

There was a typo in your REG file... attached is the proper reg key to switch off the SLI panel... which happens to solve the popup. Jeroen... don't you disable the balloon tips with your "modded" wXP install script? If you do this is the reason why you don't get the warning. :) nVidia_91.31_SLI_Off.reg
Jeroen
Actually, yesterday was the first time I installed my UA XP Disk :( I had to create this for my "Integrated Examination" (or how do you say it, it's a work where I have to work on for a whole year in my last year :) ) It wasn't fully finished yet (some registrations and stuff) but everything works now. I indeed disabled the balloon tips, and that can be the reason! Thx for noticing the typo :P I was just awake... :) Edited June 26, 2006 by Jeroen
Droogish
Just loaded these drivers onto my Sony Vaio VGN-S5VP Geforce 6400 with 256Mb memory, everything works fine. The 3DMark05 went from 1105 to 1106 from 87.08 to 91.31, I can't quite remember but the initial version 71 something was about 950 so I am very happy. Thank you

Thank you When it comes to 3dMark scores, 1 3d mark can be discounted really - basically you are getting the same synthetic gaming performance with the 91.31s over the old drivers - however in terms of actual gaming performance these drivers are much improved. I managed to get 32fps average outside on Oblivion with every setting on apart form self shadows and grass shadows, all the sliders on full, HDR on and the resolution on 1920x1200. That was about a 3-5 fps increase from my older drivers.

911medic
Using the INF in this thread causes me some problems when installing on my Dell I9300. Specifically, after installing, the new control panel is defaulted (which is fine, of course), but the option to switch to the old "classic" control panel is not available. Normally it would be under "View-->Use Classic NVIDIA Control Panel" but the option simply doesn't exist after installing with this INF--it's just not there. I traced the problem to a few specific entries in the INF. In the INF in this thread they appear like this: [nv_ControlPanelSettings] HKLM,"Software\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NvCplApi\Policies",ContextUIPolicy, %REG_DWORD%,3 HKLM,"Software\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NvCplApi\Policies",CplGroupUIPolicy,%REG_DWORD%,3 HKLM,"Software\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NvCplApi\Policies",SedonaDisable, %REG_DWORD%,3 HKLM,"Software\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NvCplApi\Policies",TaskbarUIPolicy, %REG_DWORD%,3 In the unaltered NVIDIA INF, they appear like this: [nv_ControlPanelSettings] HKLM,"Software\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NvCplApi\Policies",SedonaDisable, %REG_DWORD%,2 HKLM,"Software\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NvCplApi\Policies",ContextUIPolicy, %REG_DWORD%,2 HKLM,"Software\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NvCplApi\Policies",TaskbarUIPolicy, %REG_DWORD%,2 HKLM,"Software\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NvCplApi\Policies",CplGroupUIPolicy,%REG_DWORD%,2 After I went into the registry and changed the entries to the defaults, voila! The option to switch back to the "classic" control panel was there! I'm not sure what changing these entries to "3" is supposed to enable, but for me, it causes this problem. I did change them all at once, so it's possible that it's just one of them causing the issue. Now, with things modified the way I want them, they look like this in my registry: HKLM,"Software\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NvCplApi\Policies",ContextUIPolicy, %REG_DWORD%,1 HKLM,"Software\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NvCplApi\Policies",CplGroupUIPolicy,%REG_DWORD%,2 HKLM,"Software\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NvCplApi\Policies",SedonaDisable, %REG_DWORD%,2 HKLM,"Software\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NvCplApi\Policies",TaskbarUIPolicy, %REG_DWORD%,0 Just FYI... boku68
Are these the exact same 91.31 drivers available at nVidia's site? If not, will these be updated? I tried to use the ones from nVidia's site with the modified inf from here but they wouldn't install.
sn0wl
If the driver versions are same, they are the same. The one you tried from nVidia site was probably self extracting exe which just runs and tries to install. Otherwise it should've installed correctly assuming you know how to deal with INF files. Just download the driver from here and replace the INF to install. If you have further questions, check out the Quickstart Guide in FAQ. I thought I read somewhere that the final 91.31 drivers at the nVidia site were somehow different (better) than the ones here. I had extracted the files from the nVidia download with winrar and then replaced the inf with the modified inf. But when I tried the "Have disk" method to install I got an "unable to read" error. If the ones here are the same, then I won't even bother. BTW, I did get the 91.31 driver from this site to install without problems.
sn0wl
Strange, INF should still install the driver from nVidia site, there are no such big differences to make INF useless in different version of drivers even when thought they are the same! Anyway glad you've done with without any problems. Have fun!

Guest Guest
I have the exact same problem with my 7900 GTX go. I have 2 problems that exist after installation of 91.33 (everything else appears to work well): 1. I have the exact same "nvsvc32.exe" problem upon Restart / Shutdown. 2. When I login (WinXP SP2) my system32 folder automatically opens up. (this first happened with the installation of 91.31) BTW - the install of 91.33 corrected the SLI pop-up. This version appears to run fine with the execption of the above 2 items. my Laptop specs: Dell XPS GEN2 Nvidia GeForce Go 6800 Ultra (256MB) 512 RAM
