On the paper this driver is a big canditate for Recommended driver.

- new 9x.xx PureVideo filtering features.

- new control panel maturing.

- Media Center Edition support.

Let's see what users think of this driver.

No stability issue on a go5700. The new control panel still loads very slowly. Strangely, the only way VMR can be enabled is on the old control panel. It seems nvidia want its users to use Purevideo and overlays.

Installation went fine, but I had a lot of slowdowns and black screens upon restarting my laptop after installation.

The second time I restarted I didn't even see the bios, just a white screen that looked like it was burning my display. After turning off the power manually and restarting again I was able to boot up, but my laptop was extremely slow. I rolled back to 91.33 and everything looks all right now, but I was pretty worried about serious damage being done to my laptop.

For me it's all ok, but the mem frequency... it should be 200 MHz but the CP shws me 1,200 MHz ... :)

Very Strange:

I updated to 93.71 and something strange happened. I normally overclock my Geforce 6800 Go from my stock 250/600 to 360/720. Out of curiosity I let the control panel run the auto overclock. I normally get a value less than what I manually select but this time it said 365/1400!!! I thought that must be a mistake and turned it back to 360/720 but it now runs slower than before. My question is, do you think this has to do with DDR2 vs DDR3 for the RAM? I am a little spooked by this and didn't dare run benchmarks at those clocks for fear of frying my card. Any ideas on what is going on before I roll back to the 92.xx?

Later,

Alex

I have no idea what the problem is with these drivers, but the main reason I'd like to use them is for the added game profiles, specifically Neverwinter Nights 2. Is there any way to add those profiles manually to an older driver?

No idea why they changed to show that double frequency - perhaps looks better. But those mags I read do show memory frequencies similar in tests - so double figures for DDR and better, compared to SDRAM.

On my 6800 Go, which uses DDR1, it shows 4X the RAM clock actually. Goofy.

I have been extensively testing this driver.

There is a really big issue with the NVIDIA Display Driver Service that I have never seen before, well to be more precise, it is a rather large memory leak.

I was monitoring activity with svchost.exe to begin with and noticed that there was a progressive rise in memory usage. It kept on growing and wouldn't stop. Then after a while, it would start experiencing huge CPU usage spikes, the same goes for the nvsvc32.exe.

The moment I disabled nvsvc32.exe, the memory leak stopped and CPU usage was at 0% for svchost.exe.

So yes, the word is, if you're a laptop user, make sure you do not use the NVIDIA Display Driver Service with this driver :)

From what I've heard from a few friends, the 96.89 driver set is very stable and a great performer, so I'd recommend switching to those for the time being.

From what I've heard from a few friends, the 96.89 driver set is very stable and a great performer, so I'd recommend switching to those for the time being.

Very unfortunately this particular version doesn't work, as it's the one recommended for use with Neverwinter Nights 2.

Hello, i am a bit new to the mobile card problems so i've got a question.

I know this might be the wrong place to ask but since i want to use thse drivers its kinda seems fitting.

How do the modded INFs handle the power mangement ?

I'm asking becouse i need to use the notebook in its mobile version from time to time ( not to play with ) and am concerned that my card will run at max power and deplete the batterys.

Is there a tool which can be used to switch between max performance or the battery mode manualy ?

thanks

DELL has released this driver again today. Their original INF now supports a couple more GPUs out of the box, so i merged both releases and reuploaded. If you need fully flavoured driver features use Pieter's mobile INF.

Seems that this driver is being touted as the saving grace for those of us that play World of Warcraft on a Laptop utilizing SLI. The newest patch, 2.1, has created a fairly bad graphical glitch involving character models and armor. It is a shame that the modded INF link is broken, given the hard drive crash. Is there anyway we can get a mirror established so that it can be downloaded again?

Thank you in advance!

These drivers suck for my Geforce Go 6600 256 MB GDDR2 MXM II module. Games crap out and show weirdo shapes and colors.
