I just installed 160.04 yesterday. I'll be eagerly expecting reports on this driver :)

EDIT: I just noticed that this is XP :P I was expecting a Vista 32bit driver :)

AH, that is an issue that needs addressing as that is obviously wrong (hind site)

The scrip that does the latest posts needs a little tweak as we've had no NT drivers for quite some years now :)

Guest Vashu

I've tried about 6 different types of the 100 series with no luck...any suggestions here?

My Notebook is a Asus F3SV-X1

Video Graphics & Memory

NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS External DDRII 256MB

Chipset

Mobile Intel® PM965 Express Chipset + ICH8M

I need Win XP drivers, as I don't want to use Vista (which it came with)

Anyone else having this problem?

I've just downloaded 168.18 from the official site _http://us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/162.18/162.18_forceware_winxp_international.exe. The size is 71 305 416. But I can't install them. The installer reports a 5001 error (?), which could mean that this driver is not for WinXP. Have anyone experienced such difficulties?

Does anyone know how to install driver on GeForce 8400M GT in Windows XP. I have tried the latest versions but it says that it doesn't support this VideoCard.

I cannot install this update either.

At first I thought it was my memory that was causing this to happen, so I upgraded from 512MB of RAM up to 1GB of RAM now, and it is still doing it.

Here is the procedure that I use:

I go into "Control Panel" and bring up the "Add/Remove Software" menu, then I select the Nvidia driver and uninstall them that way. Then I reboot the computer in "Safe Mode" and use "Disk Cleaner 3" software to remove the remaining files from Nvidia.

Then I double click on "setup.exe" from the Nvidia folder downloaded here, along with the modded .inf file. It installs itself, then I reboot the computer.

When it reboots, it will not have the new driver installed, but instead, it gives me an error and says that it has experienced an error and the hardware is not installed correctly, thus the driver was not installed.

I am upgrading from 158.27, because that is the first new driver I have installed in ages (forgotten about this site, oops!), and when I did install it, it gave me these lines when trying to watch a DVD by using Intervideo WinDVD Platinum. I was hoping that by going with the new driver that it would fix that issue, and that it might give me better FPS on Counterstrike Source.

In either case, that's the description of my problems.

Here are some specs:

Toshiba Satellite P15-S479, 1GB of RAM, 60GB HD with about 13.6GB left unused, GeForce FX Go 5200 video card.

If anyone can figure out how to properly install this update that'd be awesome.

Thanks guys for the continual good work!

HELP

I have the asus f3sv x1 laptop with 8600m gs and can't install the driver for the graphics card I have tried everything including several guides various drivers and yes i used the modded inf's the closest i can get to having the card installed is the computer half recognizes it says 8600m gs but error 10 this device can not start but supposedly multiple users have gotten it to work and most common problem seems to be no hibernate but id gladly take the no hibernate over not having it installed. Thanks in advance for any help.

After installing this revision of the driver, the nVidia control panel fails to load. Gives a hard stop error with the option to send an error report.

"NVIDIA Control Panel Application 1.4.13.09 has encountered a problem and needs to close"

"Error Signature: AppName: nvcplui.exe App Ver 1.4.13.9 ModName: unknown ModVer 0.0.0.0"

Then when I click Dont Sent i get:

"nvCplUI.exe - Application Error" The instruction at "0x7c9105f8" referenced memory at "0x02360010". The memory could not be "read".

First time I've seen this. I was running 84.25 and everything worked fine.

System is Dell Latitude D820 with a nVidia Quadro NVS 120 graphics chip.

Thanks..

When I had this drivers installed I could no longer Overclock my videocard, not even with ATI Tool or RivaTuner..

Even after I installed nTune .. Is this a common issue with this driver series or what?

:)

I second this motion !

the Ctrl Panel's gotta be the klunkiest, un-ergonomic piece of interface I've seen in 10 years. It even manages to be worse than Microsoft Management Console, another piece of sw I despise.

More to the topic : I've noticed that the sortcut to run the CtrlPanel (once nTune is installed) is a straightforward :

C:\WINDOWS\system32\nvcplui.exe

Whereas the shortcuts that run it with the "Performance" and "Stability Test" options are :

C:\WINDOWS\system32\nvcplui.exe /page:{31A73CC4-962E-4D15-90EC-7201688460D6}

and

C:\WINDOWS\system32\nvcplui.exe /page:{81F73E11-F870-4F01-B540-7B9C742B6E97}

Which begs the question : does anyone know other "smart" page values ? I'm thinking to access the TV settings (deinterlacing options, I know I saw them when running a forceware 9x.something version).

Anyone ?
