The installer might be Dell only (no way of telling as my wife's lappy is also a Dell) If installer is Dell only then install the driver via 'Update Driver' method in the Control Panel system properties. R171789.exe (Sigmatel HD Audio driver v5.10.0.5515 for WinXP) R214451.exe (Sigmatel HD Audio driver v5.10.0.5921 for WinXP - unsigned though) new sound card drivers for xps m1530. 6.10.0.5866 Use either R190517.exe or R218148.exe to install v6.10.0.5866 of the drivers. These drivers worked on my mother's Dell Inspiron 640m/e1405 laptop. woo! I have an i1720 laptop but a 32-bit. will it worked?
