Guest Gaervern

I was so happy with the 156.65 that I almost did not bother change to this. Vista and GO7900GS is finally living up to expectations thanks to the latest stability packages and 156.+ drivers. But what the hell, with original inf (dispd for dell) and whql, I could not resist (OK, I am a latest-driver-addict, so what?). Setup was smooth, restart quick, hope performance and stability will be good too.

Can't you guys not refrain from the "cannot fid compatible card" whine?

If there is no modded inf not all cards are supported.

Please read the stickies and the FAQs

There linked in EVERY new driver post FGS....

...not finding the compatible graph card, and I have a GeForce 7000M / nforce 610M
It's supported:

[DEV_0533] NVIDIA GeForce 7000M / nForce 610M

Pls. uninstall , reboot and use "have disk" driver upgrading method

Correct and finally the HDTV menu from the 163.xx series drivers is now here as well (1080p / 720p selection etc)

These drivers didn't improve performance for me...

I have an 8400M GT and there are many games which work terrible (Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones for example) while others work great (Bioshock is running quite smooth).

I'm starting to really hate my laptop.

I have a Hp DV9410us running on Vista 32bit and it crashes whenever I try to install it

is it because it doesn't support my video card (GeForce Go 6150) even though it's listed on the support list ?

Guest Alucard889

Hey, its me again, so I managed to install it by uninstalling the previous driver and doing the have-disk method, and when it rebooted after the install it gave me a BSoD, but not during the install so I had to restore windows again, any suggestions?

You should not uninstall or update via the device manager, you ahould always install via setup. (Using one of the infs supplied) Doing it your way is asking for trouble...

After 2 days of using these drivers i can a 100% say that these are rock solid. They do everything they need to do (dualview on 1920 * 1200 via HDMI) decent gaming performance and Mobility power options functional on my XPS-M1330. No more 163.7x drivers for me. these are to stay till the next mobile release. > HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I thought that user selectable power options were never going to be available in vista....someone correct me if I'm wrong

This driver supports the power video options in Vista, as opposed to the 163.xx series driver

This is so frustrating, maybe someone has an idea of how to fix this.

Every driver EXCEPT 163.44 gives me this weird choppy lag with Window Animation when I have Windows Aero on. Like imagine Animation is on, and you open Internet Explorer and it the window opens, the animation is choppy. However, with the 163.44, it's smoooth as hell and NEVER gets choppy, the other drivers I've used (156.65, 156.66, 163.71, 163.69, etc) they all have the choppy animation.

It has to be some kind of Windows bug, but does anyone have ANY idea on how to fix this? I'd be soooo appreciative, thanks guys

SLI Still doesn't work with my Alienware Aurora m9700, no improvement in performace, and now I get BSOD at some points when shutting down.

I keep getting windows corruption with this driver.

Basically, (according to rivatuner 2.05) it happens when the system goes into 2D mode.

If I go into ATI tool and hit, default etc... it will reload to 3D settings and the screen goes back to normal, until I type in this post a little more and the system goes back into 2D mode and the screen gets all corrupted again.

Oh, and there still is NO powermizer settings listed in the nvidia control panel or thru ntune

D.

I am still very happy with this driver, it has NOT crashed my go7900gs once. I have had two system crashes when the PC has been idle, but I have no reason to believe it has anything to do with this driver. In addition, some bugs in control panel related to dual screens are fixed.
