Guest Guest
What's better ? this (156.87) or the 169.25?! I don't understand o.O
Guest Araghius
For those who can't install these drivers... My laptop ( Dell XPs M1710 with a Geforce GO 7950 GTX ) could install the drivers with the original inf's , To get those, extract the file '' original inf's'' ( 3 files i believe ) . And try to install the drivers again by running in Safe Mode ( after you deleted all the previous drivers ofcourse ) If you're not sure if all old drivers have been deleted, im using this program calles '' Ccleaner '' * freeware * from Ccleaner This program will check the folders for unnessesary files, and your register. Hope this will work for more people, the drivers are great on my Laptop ( used 169.22/25 before these ) -Araghius
SLoweCSL
I don't understand why the drivers are on two different development tracks. The ones from my OEM continue with the 156.xx family yet nVidia also is releasing drivers in the 169.xx family as well. What are the big differences between the two families? Thanks
Guest Anonymous
I-m pretty sure the 169 family is beta and the 150s are the official non-beta drivers.
Guest Hmm
Hmm, guy , do you know the name of this site? 150 are the mobile drivers (or mostly for the go cards), and 160 are the desktop ones doesnt have anything todo with beta non beta. Huey
So which driver is better to have instaled 156.87 or 169.25 on 8600m gt?
Guest GadgetBoi
Anyone installed these drivers on a M1730(Vista 32) and enabled SLi successfully? I am having no luck with enabling SLi on any other drivers other than 156.61(Dell released). I noticed on 156.61, when I enable Sli it prompts my to restart to enable it, which works no problem. Any other version I have tried tells me a app must be closed and usually locks up the NV control panel or I get a black screen on reboot which requires a repair or restore. Guest Iket
Wait so the diff between 15X.XX and 16X.XX is what? Either one is beta an one is not or one is for mobile and one is for desktop?
ziyaad
Wheres the modded INF?
EVO21
you dont need the modded inf, this is the official driver for laptops, and your card is supported (Go 7600)
Guest Moochi
I'm so lost... 156.xx Driver same performance as 169.xx?!? or more OUTDATED and fall behind late driver??!?! My question is: 15x.xx and 16x.xx series are only to separate laptop and desktop driver right? It seems to be non-sense and really pointless since INF dude making 16x.xx works on laptop. (Who needs 15x.xx?!?)
Guest Moochi
Something is wrong with the original INF only supports: NVIDIA_G71.DEV_0299.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GTX" NVIDIA_G71.DEV_029B.2 = "NVIDIA Quadro FX 1500M" NVIDIA_G84.DEV_040B.1 = "NVIDIA Quadro NVS 320M" NVIDIA_G84.DEV_040C.1 = "NVIDIA Quadro FX 570M" NVIDIA_G84.DEV_040D.1 = "NVIDIA Quadro FX 1600M"

Guest Mr. Bass
I'm seeing two "original inf's" folders in the extracted folder: one is compressed, one is not. Which one do I extract, and to where? I'm not very experienced with this driver updating yet, could you explain step-by-step, please? Charles-0100
if nothing is different with 169.25 , why we need to change ?
Guest Mr. Bass
Never mind--figured it out. After extracting the "Driver" folder to my desktop, I clicked on the folder. In the folder, I found a compressed ("zipped") folder entitled "original inf's". I opened this folder and clicked "extract all" at the top of the screen. Then, I specified that the 3 files should be extracted to the folder "15687_vista" (that's what my folder was called). When given the choice, I chose to replace the three files already in the folder with the same names with these compressed ones. Then, I ran setup.exe. Keep in mind that this driver was made for my video card (8600M GT), so no modded INF was necessary. The drivers seem to have installed correctly, and I tested my games on them briefly. No problems so far, keeping my fingers crossed.
