INF v3.257 should have the control panel working for all now.

nVidia are changing INFs on me, took me ages to figure it out :)

This may be a no-duh, but since it is late, I will let someone else figure that out. Tried installing this with my NVS Quadro 110M, and boy did it not like the driver. failed after install, had to roll back. I may try later to clean uninstall the old driver first, but otherwise, my card may have reached the end of its line :) .

Works fine. Slower than my old, old 174 benchmark, but didn't do a before/after.

Driver Version 175.12 174.53

3DMark Score 3721 3771

SM2.0 Score 1661 1663

HDR/SM3.0 Score 1446 1496

CPU Score 1203 1203

HDR1 - Canyon Flight 13.235 13.423 FPS

HDR2 - Deep Freeze 15.675 16.493 FPS

I've managed to enable smartdimmer via reghack, if people want to see it, ask mods to let me upload.

Anyone figure out how to get smartdimmer to turn brightness UP when you move the mouse (a-la macbook)?

For me it still keeps brightness down, as it did back when I had it working on 169's.

Also, anyone know how to get vista to UC a c2d?

It doesn't seem to do anything different on battery (though temp goes up, presumably from vents being covered).

Hey guys! Thanks for posting these nice drivers.

How do you do to make the VGA to work full power in battery? I mean... when I turn of the AC power, and work only on battery, my graphic card sucks. In every game fps drops for about a half.

Anyone know how to solve it? It's not specific of these drivers... I have this problem with any driver here from this site.

Thanks

Its probably your processor underclocking, not the video card.

I don't think so. :) My windows energy plan is set to "high performance". In advanced settings, I've tried to define all the values related to CPU usage to 100%, and still have the same problem. (Default is: minimun in battery: 5%, maximun in battery: 100%). Even if I set the first value to 100%, I have the same problem.

I've been told about Powermizer, but my nvdia control panel doesn't have it :)

My graphics card is a 8400GS

Thanks in advance

(by the way, sorry for the double post above)

Try running cpu-z to see the CPU speed; also, try running nvmonitor to see if your card is keeping you underclocked with powermizer. Even if you don't see it, it could (and may well be) activating.

Gaming on battery isn't very important anyway; you can't really get more than an hour, 2 at most even with the biggest battery at reasonable settings.

go7900gs, i'm not able to overclock on these drivers nor am i able to see my clock speeds.

In riva tuner, it indicates the clock speeds are 200/350.

I remembering go7900gs speeds are 350/575 isn't it?

Any help would be grateful.

You're right :)

I did a search for files with the word "pozermizer" in my computer and guess what I've found: the modded inf that I downloaded from this site. I opened it and located the following section:

;Powermizer settings

HKR,, PowerMizerDefault, %REG_DWORD%, 3

HKR,, PowerMizerEnable, %REG_DWORD%, 1

HKR,, PowerMizerLevel, %REG_DWORD%, 3

HKR,, PowerMizerLevelAC, %REG_DWORD%, 1

HKR,, PowerSaverHsyncOn, %REG_DWORD%, 1

HKR,, EnableCoreSlowdown, %REG_DWORD%, 1

HKR,, EnableMClkSlowdown, %REG_DWORD%, 1

HKR,, EnableNVClkSlowdown, %REG_DWORD%, 1

I set the value of PowerMizerEnable from 1 to 0, reinstaled the drivers, and problem solved :)

Thank you very much

This driver will not install on my laptop. I tried the modded .inf. I have a Gateway P-6831FX with an 8800M GTS. The OS is Vista Home Premium x64. I rebooted using disable driver signature feature, but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

I get the message that says something like, no changes have been made to your system, you may re-run the application at a later time.

Same here. The Installation ended with some error, I clicked finish, rebooted and the control panel wasn't even available. Don't know wheter the driver itself was installed though or not. I uninstalled it right away and put the 167.62 on the machine. That one did work.

A DELL Vostro 1500 this is.

cheers,

cube

Not very a good thing to do, I recommend you to enable powmizer back in and change PowerMizerDefault, PowerMizerLevel to 1. I have been doing so for all drivers, don't know why mobilenvidia doesn't want to make it default setting, it'll be better for all of us. Normally clocks are set to 2D when, well, you?re working in 2D. :) And if you want to load some 3D game on battery then why do this in forced 2D mode clocks.

Thought this driver has some sort of problem, the clocks (according to RivaTuner Hardware Monitor) always go up when needed, but they rarely come down, mostly getting stuck in Performance 3D or Low power 3D. Can anybody confirm this strange behavior?
