Doug2h
Should it matter if I downloaded the driver from here or Nvidia? Putting the modded inf in english version from Nvidia driver will not install. I have added my card to orginal inf and it install but yours has a lot more tweaks. :)
mobilenvidia
I based my modded INF on the international version. So when you run setup it will most likely not install. If you use 'Have disk method' you will get some files not found errors but you can ignore these and the driver should work just fine. Pawel
Should it matter if I downloaded the driver from here or Nvidia? Putting the modded inf in english version from Nvidia driver will not install. I have added my card to orginal inf and it install but yours has a lot more tweaks. :) If you use the modded INF with an extracted version of nVIDIA's official International driver, it will just skip through the installation process. mobilenvidia
Nope, just confirmed that if you: extract the original nvidia driver download Then replace the original INF with modded one Run Setup the driver installs just fine. Ofxourse if you try to run the original compressed EXE that comes from nvidia then it won't install as there is no modded INF.

All original inf's are zipped with the driver. Wasn't able to use "Have disk" method. Got error and closed. Will download driver tonight at work have better connection there. Only a 128Kb connection in my room. :)
Boost_
The driver will not install. I get this message: "This system has not been modified. To install this program at a later time, run the installer again" ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ using modded inf provided *EDIT* Modding the original .inf let me install. PhysX is still not enabled. mobilenvidia
Need more INFO. What GPU is in your rig ? PCI_ID would be even better. Why is this working for some and not for others :)
Boost_
It's the 8800M GTS in my sig. Device ID's: PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0609&SUBSYS_0690107B&REV_A2 PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0609&SUBSYS_0690107B PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0609&CC_030000 PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0609&CC_0300 I check the modded inf, and all the right info is there, so I'm scratching my head too. What I did do is copy info from the modded inf, and pasted it into the original. I'll even show you what I copied and pasted. On a side note. This driver has benched the best so far for me in 3dMark06. Scored a 8619. I hit over 9k with only a 50MHz increase on core, shader, and memory. Unfortunately Vantage will not run on my machine due to display limitations. Me thinks you may have downloaded the nVidia driver file (english only) and this could be causing issues with the International modded INF. Try downloading the driver from here (international) and give it another go.
masterjonny
If these drivers were people, I would hug them. New hard drive a few days ago, had to re install Windows. Did what I always do, but whatever driver version I picked, the screen would flicker when minimizing and maximizing, even on driver's I knew to be stable. Thought there was a conflict somewhere tried 64 bit Windows. Same problem and wanted to tear my hair out at this point :) Finally put these in the "latest beta that isn't going to work properly", and it solved my problem straight away. Been trying to fix it for 2 days and these drivers did it. 100% awsome drivers :) :P *crazy mad rant over*
Guest SirTrini
Just FYI... the 177.79 drivers under Vista 64 does not seem to work with Blu-ray. I get an error about the video card in Cyberlink PowerDVD 8 and in Dell Media Direct (Uses same engine for Blu-ray). Had to revert back to 177.73. Guest Star
Man you can use WinDVD blueray plus (not the evaluation version!!), this programm dont need driver for Blu-ray/HD-DVD :)
Guest Guest
Besides a rare occasional graphical glitch (white dot in the hair texture without helmet) 177.79 for Vista64 is the best driver for Age of Conan, especially when it comes to performance. No other bugs (broken shadows, very low FPS in certain areas) as the older 177.xx drivers.
Prasad007
PhysX now works with Geforce 8800M GTX using this driver and the new nVidia PhysX 8.07.18 software.... nVidia PhysX properties (Geforce PhysX option no longer grayed out), the 3DMark Vantage Physics test (score jumped from 7 OPS to 75 OPS), Unreal Tournament 3 PhysX maps work MUCH faster, etc.
Guest nitrbandit
This one's hard to explain. I only use an opengl game and i get 25fps when running on AC power and 4 fps when on batteries. I see a simliar 4x performance drop off when testing with furmark. Obviously it is some kind of power savings feature that is mis-set. But with windows vista (64bit) power setting control panel you can only modify CPU power....which I have set to 100% even on battery. I know it's crazy to burn ur batteries on a game but i want to solve this nuisance issue. Any ideas how to tell the nvidia (9500M GS) to not slow down when on batteries? I did install the Performance tool also but it reports that the GPU settings are asking for full speed (but the GPU does indeed measure clocked wayyy down. Guest nitrbandit
Well i found another post that solved it. Change 0x3333 to 0x2222 in the INF and set PowerMizerEnable to 0. A quick search through the modded INF found the entries I needed to change....did update driver using "have disk" and works great even no reboot needed to enable these changes....sucks that this feature is not exposed in the NV Control Panel. What they heck do they do there all day can't make a decent driver or have decent software...i'm not a programmer, just want to have a few settings. FostWare
Confirmed! 8.07.18 PhysX drivers are available from EXPReview - where everyone else seems to be grabbing it from. (Kaspersky 8 gives it the all clear) Yeah, UT3 is *noticably* faster, which is quite freaky :)
Senture
Do you get graphics problems in UT2004 with your laptop at all? Namely insane stuttering.
Michael Curran
This driver is awesome; however, I have my 9500M GS overclocked and it will downclock around 96C, even after I disabled all powermizer entries in the registry. I know this is pretty hot and downclocking is a good thing, but 96C is right where my fan kicks in full blast and immediately reduces the heat to around 90C, which is fine for me. So if I could disable the driver from downclocking my GPU, I should be all set. Running Crysis w/ all settings Very High, and shadows and shaders on High. I can even run it all at Very High, but it stutters a little when firing at enemies and I can't run as fast. Anyone know how I can disable the downclocking on this driver? Please let me know.
