neokjo
Thanks for this post. I was a little bit suprised about the missing of x64. I'll test this one later and post my result comparing 177.92 ----------------- And here comes the result ^^ :-) I've done some tests with 177.92 and 177.98 with 3DMark06: 177.92 @ default settings : 4013 177.98 @ default setting : 4014 As u can see the result is almost nothing. Can't found any problems with my casual played games: CoD 4, ETQW and a few others. CP is working for me. i stay at this and will return u problems when i notice them Until that this one works good for me Edited September 8, 2008 by neokjo
neokjo
Hey Guys, I noticed some clocking changes at this version. On My 9500M GS the default clock for Memory is 400. In 2D Mode the settings should be 100. But i can see in RivaTuner that this value is not the estimated one. It is at 700 !!!!! Manually i can't set i higher than 600 in RT !! When he changes in 3D Mode he donwclock !! to the right 3D value at 400. And if i come back to idle it goes up again at 700 !!! never seen this before and i feel a little bit afraid of it. Temps are down but clocks are critical high i think. I tryed to force clocks in 2D mode but if i set it at 100 he set the clock on 700 again. I only get the real value if i choose one lower or higher as 100. Then the clocks are at right values. I run no OC until now. But i need to force the clocks DOWN in 2D now. I really don't want to run my Graphic Memory at 700 on system idle. This happens only in this Version and all other clocks are ok. Anyone noticed this effect on ur machine?? Guest Guest
ye riva tuner (using 2.10) is messing up clocks with the 177.9x use gpuz to see the right clocks. its not so specific n accurate but gives u the right clocks for those drivers :)
neokjo
Yes i see in gpuz the clocks are displayed right. Hope that this will be fixed in riva tuner in next release

Guest kris
Yes, I have not installed any server related services on it. I was able to successfully install DELL drivers initially. But not this driver. Did you uninstall previous version and then installed this driver? Any advantage using this driver over current DELL driver 97.46? Thanks

Guest stalin
OK. I see the point. Now, how do I get drivers loaded? I have successfully installed these drivers onto a Dell M1530 w/ a Nvidia 8600GT and Windows 2008 Server Standard. All I did is downloaded the driver, used WinRar to extract the file into a folder, then copied the "Modded INF" file that is referenced in the first post on this thread to that folder and replaced the existing file in it. Then run the setup file that's in the new folder and install like you would normally. I also had problems with RivaTuner being unable to overclock this driver and went back to an older driver because of it.
Guest Kris
Isn't the default INF file supports Quadro NVS 120M? OK, will try with modded file.
Guest Guest
I've got a 9500M GS and my memory clockrate seems fine; however, about half the time - my computer starts up in 800x600 and then fixes itself. This is strange and is not because the computer was shut off with an application running at that res., which was my first guess at a cause. neokjo
I've got also an 9500M GS and didn't notice this behavior. My System starts with 1440x900 without any Problems. Try to delete all previous driver versions with driver sweeper and reinstall with modded inf. If the problem is still present try screen-resolution settings in CP and reply ur results. Guest kris
OK.....used modded file ... installed fine. But Graphics was terrible. For example when I maximize window bottom startbar becomes light grey when it supposed to be dark black. And all other kinds of funky issues. Reverted back, now working like charm so sticking with 97.46 version.
deathwinger
This driver has been to have given me a strange side effect. It puts the digital vibrance available or increase or decrease in the Nvidia control Panel under Adjust desktop current settings at 100%. However, I personally set this to 0% as I hate what it does to the colours. Is there anyone else getting this issue and if so how to solve it? I have a Clevo M860tu with Vista 64 Ultimate and a Geforce 9800M GT 512MB.

Guest Eldest
I installed Vista 64. Downloaded ForceWare X 177.98 and Modded *. INF. Replaced the *. INF. The driver is not installed, what can I do? It is a standard VGA adapter. When you install the installer writes - no e happens, try again. I have a laptop Toshiba X200 video 8700 Help please! Guest mcurran
So far, the latest drivers do not seem to like any editing of the embedded VGA BIOS for my 9500M GS. After I modify and flash my BIOS, I get a black screen (no display). I even uninstalled, swept, and reinstalled this driver, and it still did not work for some reason. I know the issue is driver related, because I can boot into safe mode, and also use the standard vga driver with the modified BIOS in a normal boot. Please let me know if this has been a typical scenario with users who try to modify their VGA BIOS' with NiBiTor. I am going to try again, and this time I will not use the 4th profile and see what happens. If you would like to take a look at my BIOS or the extracted VGA BIOS module; please let me know. Kaaji1359
Hey guys, I've been away for a little bit and I noticed that the 177.xx drivers have (Desktop) next to them, even though my Dell XPS M1530 with a 8600M GT runs them perfectly fine. Why do the 177.xx driver's have Desktop next to them? Would the 176.xx Driver's run better on my laptop??

Why do the 177.xx driver's have Desktop next to them? Would the 176.xx Driver's run better on my laptop?? Nearly all these drivers (bar some of the OEM ones) are for the desktop cards, then the inf files are 3rd party modified for use with laptops (i.e. laptopvideo2go users).
