mobilenvidia
The go5300 and 5350 have the same PCI-ID number. So there must only be a difference externally (ie TV tuner maybe) nVidia as of the 56.xx calls the 2 go53xx. Pieter.
®®®
also integrated TV-Tuner hi, integrated means in this case that is is "integrated" in the notebook (as all components are "integrated" in a notebook.... :) ), but as all-non germans certainly don't know this a typically ALDI MARKETING. They describe techology for the masses, so they use keywords and marketing phrases that normal people, who dont' have a clue, better understand. The TV-Tuner is not necessarily integrated in the GPU in this case, which would be an exclusive feature from NVIDIA to ALDI, and i can't imagine that NV is developing an exclusive gpu only for ALDI, which is proven by the same PCI-ID no. Think you are right. I only wrote "TV-tuner" because this is the first time I know a NB with TV- IN. Not more. :)
mobilenvidia
It's not the first laptop with TV-Tuner build in. The Area51M's have had it for a while now. There must be a small difference between the 5300 and 5350, not enough to warrent a different PCI-ID. It would have to be external (GPU) though as the BIOS/Driver wouldn't recognise the difference between the 2 GPU's. Pieter.

mobilenvidia
Cheers Mobile Risk, Your video BIOS must allow for OCing, where as Dell machines must have it disabled. All the better for you and hardluck for Dell owners. Dell owners that are fearless could attempt to burn your 5600go BIOS to their machines. :o Ofcourse read Dontknow's warning below first, only attempt if money is no object (can afford new machine) Pieter. ®®®
PLS. DONT DO THAT ! NEVER EVER USE or FLASH ANY BIOS FROM GERICOM, if it's not REALLY necessary. STAY AWAY. There is so much going on in multiple forums where users report LOTS of weird stuff happening with the bios "updates" (?) offered on Gericom FTP: - wrong version numbers - wrong model number - bios updates is NOT supported by Gericom and you'll loose warranty, so they don't have to offer any more service to you You're up to do whatever you want, but be warned. Guest Falqon
Is there absolut no way to get more power on my Toshiba (5200-903)? :) Could you post a link to your 3dmark score? I'm curious to see your fill rate and so on. Maybe your 5600 isn't the bottleneck

Basically, what's slowing you down is your CPU and potentially not optimized OS. Your video card isn't the problem
jabberwalky
You are right. Must be the CPU. Trie to overclock it tonight. there is a very powerful tool (in my eyes) to OC the Toshiba. http://www.cpuid.com/download/CG-ICS950220.zip With this Tool you can raise your taktrate. ®®®
jabberwalky, The file you linked is intended for Toshiba 5200s as stated in the readme. I was searching the net almost one and half year for some information regarding the PLL or ClockGenerator that is located in the inner depth of my Toshiba. I can't open the case without loosing my 3 year warranty. THANKS alot for this new link! I used CPU-Z for a long time, but was disappointed that ClockGen did not support my Laptop without knowing the PLL [same with SoftFSB (H-Oda)]. I hoped to get a real 100 Mhz FSB instead of my "underclocked" 99,6 (which is an 7MHz "underclocked" CPU as you can see in my signature). BUT it doesn't work :) The readings (get value) are totally wrong and setting the cpu to the next value from 1993 to 2012 Mhz has no effect. :) (((( I wrote a mail to the author. Lets see, what happens.

®®®
info from MS: The processor speed is slower than expected on a notebook computer that is running Windows XP SYMPTOMS When you start a laptop computer on battery power, the processor speed may be slower than the processor speed that the manufacturer indicates. To view the processor speed, you can use the System tool in Control Panel. CAUSE This behavior occurs because most laptop computers on battery power set the processor speed to a slower speed to conserve battery power and to reduce the temperature of the processor. MORE INFORMATION This behavior depends on the capability of the processor and the BIOS settings for the laptop computer. When the computer starts to use battery power, the processor speed is automatically reduced and written to the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DESCRIPTION\System\CentralProcessor\0\~MHz STATUS This behavior is by design.
